I am a peacock.

Today, my prof said I was a peacock. We were doing this "job personality leadership styles quiz" thing, and first, I told her that I didn't fit into any of the (unnamed) descriptors. She said, "you have to pick one from each category, and I said, "but I don't fit. It's not that I can't choose-- it's that I don't fit." She told me that I did fit, and that I just had to pick one from each category, and to just think about what I'm like AT WORK.

So... I stared at it a little longer, and then asked if I could have another sheet. She said no.

I got out two markers, one for each job, and filled it out, and she came by and asked me why I had so many circles and why my tallies were two sets of numbers, so I explained, and I said, "I think I'm going to go with this category, because I have the greatest number total, plus the two sets of numbers are closest to each other."

And she said, "no, I think you should go with this one here." and pointed at the second column, where I had a 3/7 split.

It was the category later labeled "peacock." There were only two of us in the class, and we then spent the rest of the time explaining to each other we would do to change the category system if we were in charge, and ruminating on why all the English Language Learners were in the same group.

It said that we like, lack the ability to plan and have goals, and that we're too spontaneous. That we only do things because we want applause and praise. It said we like to be the center of attention, and we can be "a little overwhelming." The teacher chuckled as she said that, and pointed me out as a good representative. It was a little embarrassing. I can't help that I'm enthusiastic and like to be involved in my learning.

Anyway, I'm a peacock, and I had a great day. *preen*
