It's raining in Greensboro. It has been for 2.5 days now, and there are a few more days in the forecast. This is very good news indeed, especially given that we've been in drought-mode for most of the time I've been in this state (since August-ish). The last measureable rainfall before this batch was in /early/ September, and then it was like, less than a half-inch. Or at least, this is what my boss tells me.
I have a presentation tomorrow as part of the interviewing process for the GA position. I haven't a clue what I'm going to present on, at the moment. I'm thinking I'll probably do something on how we remember and how we forget. That could be fun, and easy. it's only 10 minutes, so a brief overview of cognitive processes related to memory and retention and ... I'm done.
I hope it goes well.
Talked with my advisor yesterday and planned my tentative course of study. I'm taking 6 credits every semester (Fall, Spring, and Summer) until Spring 2009, then I'm taking 3 credits a semester for two semesters.
That means that, this Spring I'll be taking CUI 618- Teaching English as a Second Language on Thursday nights, and CUI 614- Word Study on Wednesday nights-- thus leaving Friday - Tuesday as my "weekend." Rock? I dunno yet.
Of course this also means that this summer I'll be taking ERM 605 (the harder of the two offered Educational Research Methodology course that's going to just about kill me) and CUI 604- Applied Linguistics. *headdesks* I just want to overwork myself, don't I?
But it'll be during the second session, so the month of July, and class will meet every day M-F.
