Gail just came with the rest of my things. She also brought me a bed, and a table-setting for eight. She also came with a table, which I am borrowing from Myra. It's a nice table-- I can understand why she'd want it back.
Gail also happened to buy me a set of knives for kitchen use. One for meat, and two for veggies. And a set of steak knives. And some metal serving spoons and stuff.
I know better than to tell her no. But I feel like it was almost too much. There's no way I can think to thank her. She won't let me even buy her lunch.
But, in addition to that, I also met a new friend. Her name is Sarah and she's working on her masters in theatre tech. I caught her staring at me during Grad School Orientation, so I went up to her, and she acted like we knew each other, so I introduced myself, and she asked for my number. Then she called.
She came over today, and helped me hang posters. As she was leaving she gave me a hug. It was a good hug, but I don't think I know her as much as we seem familiar. *shrug* She has a girlfriend, though, so I don't feel like she's trying to get some play.
Speaking of play, I miss the Erixes like a lot. We talked for 2.5 seconds tonight, and it was heavenly, and helped me a little with the missing, but I just want to wrap him up in my arms and snuggle him until I can't stand it anymore. *sigh* This is so hard. And it'll only be harder to avoid running to him when he's in Virginia. The only thing stopping me then is his parents. I don't really feel ready to meet them, quite yet... and he's said he doesn't want to sneak off to spend a few hours with me, if I were to spontaneously drive to Virginia. I guess I just gotta wait my turn.
But I am thinking about permanently moving my bed into the closet. Mostly because it seems like a waste to have sooooooooo much space. Right now, the bedroom is pretty full, but still aesthetically pleasing. The closet has clothes in it, and whatever I haven't unpacked yet will probably go in there too. I dunno.
I had contemplated putting the rats in the closet, but there's no window, and I'd worry about that being an issue. They need sunlight as much as the next guy.
So, there we have it. An update of sorts.
