Mmm Bible pasta.

So, as many of you may know, Larissa and I have a bad habit of cooking together. Separately, we can cook just fine (except a few anomalies, involving frozen peas), but when we try to cook together, things seem to go horrible awry.

Last night I decided to make us parmesan crusted chicken breasts (no, I'm not that clever-- they come in a box, from the freezer, but they're really good).

Larissa was in the process of making something when I suggested it, and she decided that instead of making Bernie O's, she'd make mac an cheese, since the milk goes bad tomorrow, anyway.

So, I put the chicken in the oven, and she boils the water. And she goes in her room, and I'm wandering around picking things up, when I notice the water's boiling.

So I add the noodles, stir, decrease the temperature, and put the lid on the pot.

I go in my room to stack some shelves... we both forget we're cooking.

I mean, mostly it's my fault, because... well, Larissa didn't realise I'd added the noodles already. But by the time we got to them, they were a noodly mush. So we flushed them down the toilet, which, I've learned, is what Larissa does with a lot of things. ...like pudding. *shudder*

And she decides to make new pasta. So she gets out the organic bible pasta that she bought like when we moved in, that we haven't touched because it tastes funny and we weren't exactly sure how to cook it since we threw the box away.

So she makes a handful of the pasta, and I took a goo portion of the rest, and broke it up and mixed it with the rat food. I'm sure they'll like it. It's sprouted grains. mmm.

So for dinner last night we had parmesan-crusted chicken with parmesan-crusted bible pasta. It was interesting. Made more interesting with a beer and some molasses cookies.

Mmm... food.
