Video Games and Me

Yesterday I went and picked up HeartGold for the DS. It's quite the recreation though I do have a few nitpicks, mostly revolving around the few trainers on each route plus the problem of the random trash in caves and tall grass. While I like an easy ride, it's no fun beating on level 12 Drowsees outside of Goldenrod City when they don't yield enough EXP to really level grind or farm them out. Compounded with the few trainers with sometimes surprisingly low level Pokemon, it's arguably one of the mixed bags I've played so far. But it's fun at least.

Final Fantasy XIII has proven to be incredible, but sometimes I find myself in an inverse problem as the trash is just FAR too hard. Several dozen enemies I can handle at once, I'm used to that. But when they have the unholy power to make your HP drop to 0 in a very quick manner, it is just frustrating at the same time. And then the bosses are bitch-hard too. I need to re-order my team a little better.

Platinum is the lynchpin of my HGSS experience. With a second DS (Kyle, go get a new one this one sucks), I can trade support items. Once I get Togepi to Togekiss, I'll trade it over to HGSS and get it to learn Aura Sphere. Most of my team is from Platinum, including my Piplup. Though I need to take care in moderation and power on to the next gym. I'm hitting the level 30 threshold pretty quick here.
