Regina Spektor - 11:11

So I've been doing a lot of music listening lately. Nothing has come close to catching my attention nearly as much as this album. Prior to this, I've heard her big album with "Fidelity" on it. THat album is a pretty good album, much like many other good albums out there. This one, however, is one that seems to defy categorization. I couldn't possibly pick a sample of less than 8 or so songs to accurately display what the album sounds like. It is so packed with fun and talent that you can't help but laugh along with her as she amuses herself. I can't honestly remember the last time I laughed at how artistically amusing music was. There are a lot of jazz aspects, a lot of vocalizing, little bits of rap,and other craziness. The album is very raw and it's truly something unique that should be heard by anyone that likes new things. I know being released in '01 makes it nearly a decade old, but it's new to me! I'm sure there are tons of people out there that are not familiar with it as well. Check it out if quirky and fun music thrown in with some loungy instrumentals sounds appealing to you.
