the knee!

i'm a terrible livejournaler. i busted up my kneecap nicely on the 3rd. was turning too wide, too fast. clipped a curb and my knee connected with a concrete driveway. it was relatively painless to be perfectly honest. i hardly touched the T3s they gave me. apparently the fracture ran vertically and so the muscles surrounding my knee kept it together. i just had to refrain from bending it or walking more than a couple dozen feet. however, when i went in for a consult yesterday i was told that one piece of the knee cap had slipped inward towards the joint. if it healed that way, bone would grind against bone leading to severe arthritis by my mid-30s. so today they had me come in for the afternoon. i didn't ask what they did to secure the pieces together. the doctors wouldn't have known until they opened me up anyways. as far as I know though, it was a couple of screws coming in from one side. either way, the 6" slice down my leg is supremely badass and exquisitely painful.
