So I'm pretty stoked about Dragon*Con coming up; serious talk. It still blows my tiny mind that such an awesomely big and wonderful con, covering pretty much every genre and subject I adore, is pretty much in my backyard. People come from all over to be a part of this, and alls I gotta do is take the train. It's indeed a blessing. Last year I only got to go one day, since I was on a cruise. I had so much fun just that ONE day, I knew when I did it again I'd have to do it big. So, this year, I'm going all four days, I will wait in what promises to be a disgustingly long line to get my badge, I will dress up, and will listen to science track panels, scifi panels, and fantasy panels. and I will squeal when I spot William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. Not to mention Gaeta, Ianto Jones, and Admiral Adama. Also Ben Browder. Also---Jean Luc Picard. Also---well pretty much everyone they've got lined up this year.
My mom laughed when I expressed my joy over her getting my ticket for me over the phone, but she also understands, being a loyal fan of the scifi/syfy channel herself.
Plus my first best friend EVER,
noctaval will be there as well, and we'll get to see each other again for the first time in Lord knows how many years--17 or so, I think. In any case, tons of fun. I went to the HP Yule Ball last year with the main squeeze and he actually had a good time. It was an awesome people watching activity, and there was a pretty ferocious ol' Voldemort there. This year, it'll be all of that but TIMES 4!
Freakin' just. Good times.
