I have always posted stuff on days KisuMai had concerts, so this year is no different! Since I'll be away without proper access to a computer though, scheduling posts it is! At least this is a useful function, lol.
Look forward to things the next few days until Osaka shows are over then! Not all posts will be a full article translation though... Also, of course, these won't be crossposted to the community until I'm back home.

Their debut single “Everybody Go” got first place on the CD ranking! We had the seven members who have happy exciting things continuing for them tell us about various things that make their hearts beat faster. Have their heart-throbbing smiles too♪
Tamamori Yuuta
Q1 What is something that made your heart beat faster lately?
Right now, there really is nothing in private that makes my heart beat faster, you know? That’s because once I get home, I just go to sleep immediately! When I read the script for the drama “Ikemen Desu ne” which I’m appearing in, my heart always beats faster. At those times, I’m probably grinning (laughs). My heart beats faster just from reading the story. So that everyone who watches the drama can feel this heart-throbbing feeling too, I want to play Ren with all my might! Also, when we’re filming outside, and someone who spotted me calls me, “Ren-sama~!”, my heart skips a beat and my tension raises. Probably right now, the percentage of my heart beating faster at that is higher than being called “Tama-chan~!” (laughs). Ah, when I appeared together with other members in “Waratte Ii Tomo!”, my heart also beat really quickly. After debuting, the number of jobs that I am trying for the first time has increased. “Ii Tomo” is a show I had watched since I was a kid, so for myself to be able to appear in it, I was too happy so my heart beat faster!
Q2 Something that makes your heart beat faster unintentionally?
My heart always beats faster when I think about, “I wonder if I can wake up early properly in the morning?” I’m scared of oversleeping to the point that I have days I can’t sleep until the morning because I’m too nervous (laughs). It’s because being late is definitely not good.
Q3 The number one thing that made your heart beat faster?
Eh~ I wonder what...ah, the moment I turned 20 years old! When I was a teenager, I longed to be 20 and I wanted to be an adult faster, so I was really looking forward to it.
Q4 The member that would seem to fall for a prank the easiest is?
Nikaido! He’s honest, so it seems like he’d get tricked immediately. I think he’d get really scared with pranks involving ghosts especially? That guy really hates ghosts, so he’d definitely make some good noise (laughs).
Q5 A moment when a member made your heart skip a beat?
Miyata made my heart skip a beat! It’s when we backdances for KAT-TUN’s World Tour and went to Korea with them. The “toilet incident” at the hotel room I stayed together with Miyata. The toilet in the room wasn’t working well already at the beginning, but before we went to sleep though, Miyata finally broke it and so, I had to endure not going for one night. Since it was late already, it wasn’t like I could wake up members in other rooms, and I don’t understand Korean, so I couldn’t call the front desk to fix it for us... Since it couldn’t be helped, I slept while blaming Miyata (laughs). My heart was beating quickly until the morning~ To be accurate, it wasn’t Miyata’s fault though, but feelings-wise, I felt that “Miyata got me!”
Q6 At what time would your heart beat faster for a girl?
I’m not really the type for my heart to flutter, but when a girl shows me a smile, my heart beats faster. I think girls that smile radiantly are nice~ and cute~
Q7 Think about the mail you would send your girlfriend after a date!
“THank you for being with me today. I want to go somewhere for a date next time too ♡” Just in case, “Thank you for being with me” is a heart-throbbing point. I’ll leave the place for the next date for the girl to decide. That’s because I want to feel my heart beat faster, seeing her think about the next date with all her might.
Yokoo Wataru
Q1 What is something that made your heart beat faster lately?
A while ago, I took the shinkansen on my own. At first, I was gazing at the scenery while listening to music, but I ended up sleeping without realizing it... When I suddenly woke up, I happened to see the platform of a station, so I thought, “Perhaps it’s my destination?” and got off. It was still the station before it though, so I frantically got back on the shinkansen and was safe! My heart beat faster and my sleepiness disappeared at once (laughs).
Q2 Something that makes your heart beat faster unintentionally?
I’m scared of the dark so it makes my heart beat faster! If it’s completely dark, I can’t relax and sleep, so before, I slept with the TV on. Lately, in order to preserve energy, I try to listen to music on my music player and sleep. When I listen to a CD with the sounds of the ocean, I’d fall asleep deeply before I knew! Also, I don’t deal well with dark streets at night. If I have to walk my girlfriend home at the end of a date though, even if it’s a completely dark street, I’d pretend I’m fine. The moment she enters her house safely, I think I’d dash home (laughs).
Q3 The number one thing that made your heart beat faster?
This spring, my oldest brother and his wife had their first daughter. To me, she’s my niece. When I got to hold her for the first time, I thought, “I mustn’t drop her,” and my heart was beating fast. She got quite a bit of saliva on my clothes, but I was like, “I can just wash it~♡ It’s alright!” and was totally okay with it. She was so cute, I was totally fawning over her (laughs). Lately, it’s fun for me to look at children’s clothing, so I go to the shops a lot. I bought and gave my niece a stylish jinbei and baby bottle. [Note: Jinbei is a traditional, but informal summer set of clothes, previously for males only, but nowadays, there are sets made for females as well.]
Q4 The member that would seem to fall for a prank the easiest is?
As I thought, the mischievous NiSen (Nikaido and Senga) probably since the two still have a child-like pure side to them. I think they’d get tricked, and just honestly say, “They got me!” and be delighted. Well, since the two of them love pranks, they are also the pair to play pranks on everyone else conversely too. Incidentally, the ones that seem to would not fall for a prank are Gaya and Tama. These two have good intuition, so I think they’d immediately realize it’s a prank.
Q5 A moment when a member made your heart skip a beat?
For my birthday last year, I was eating dinner with Goseki (Koichi) and Kawai (Fumito) together. Then, in the middle of it, Kitayama, Miyata, and Tama joined us and they celebrated with me. It was a surprise, so I was shocked. I got things like rice and seasoning stuff from Kitayama and Miyata, and Tama gave me bath goods as a present.
Q6 At what time would your heart beat faster for a girl?
My heart would beat faster when I see her do her best with work where no one was looking, and I’d respect her too. The figure of a girl being relaxed strikes home with me. That’s why I don’t deal well with the type of girl that calculates her actions. When you’re eating in a large group, there’d be someone who would divide the food from the large dishes, right? Those girls who are eager in situations like those where “everyone is watching”, I’d think, “Maybe she’s doing this in an attempt to be popular?” Of course, I know there are girls who just are really kind (laughs). My heart would squeeze seeing her do her best where no one was looking.
Q7 Think about the mail you would send your girlfriend after a date!
I’d take photos of the date course we went on that day secretly in advance without letting her find out. Then, I want to send a mail saying, “Thanks for today. It’s fun to be able to go here! I want to see you again. Where do you want to go next time?” and attach photos to it. Since I’m basically not the type to say sw~eet words, this is to the best of my ability! (laughs)
Miyata Toshiya
Q1 What is something that made your heart beat faster lately?
My heart was beating fast every day before debut. I have a calendar beside the telephone at home, and every day, I was counting down alone. Of course, I drew a circle around August 10th. There were circles around the days my mother has work too, so it became one of the circles among those (laughs). Oh right, a while ago, in the middle of my sleep, suddenly, I felt that someone trespassed into our house, and I woke up in a flash. Since everyone in my family had already went to sleep, I thought, “It might be a thief!?” and checked around the house. I was scared and my heart was beating fast, but thinking, “I’m going to protect my family!”, I did my best. In the end, there was no one there, that really was a relief~ Just what was that feeling of “Is someone there?”
Q2 Something that makes your heart beat faster unintentionally?
Every time I go outside in the summer, my heart would beat faster. Thinking, “Will I sweat on my way to the station? If I did, I wouldn’t like that”, and my heart beats fast (laughs). That’s because it’s embarrassing to go on the train all sweaty. Also, when I have to wake up early the following morning, I’d wonder if I can wake up and my heart beats faster. For example, when I need to wake up at 6 o’clock, I’d get into my futon, and think, “Tomorrow is 6 o’clock, 6 o’clock, 6 o’clock...” and keep giving myself suggestions. Like, writing the number “6” on various parts of my body like my arms and face. If I don’t do it like it’s magic, it won’t work (laughs).
Q3 The number one thing that made your heart beat faster?
I think it was roughly when I was still in kindergarten. On the street, when I passed by a junior high school student, he clicked his tongue at me, and that night, my heart was beating so fast I couldn’t sleep. I was really scared. I was very frightened, thinking of things like, “Maybe that junior high school student knows where my house is?” “Maybe he’ll come in the middle of the night?”
Q4 The member that would seem to fall for a prank the easiest is?
Nikaido I think. That guys is always on the side of playing prank-like jokes on people. That’s why, conversely, there’s a part of him that thinks, “By no means, I’d be pranked on”, so I think he’d be unprepared.
Q5 A moment when a member made your heart skip a beat?
Since I’m a scaredy-cat, I’d be startled with just someone going “Wah!” from behind me. There were so many times my heart skip a beat that I don’t remember all of them. If I remember all of them, the HDD (hard disk drive) in my head would burst (laughs).
Q6 At what time would your heart beat faster for a girl?
To explain with a pattern that anime tend to have, if I was told something, “What are you, an idiot!” while the girl has her face all red and is embarrassed, my heart would beat faster. How she’s embarrassed at maximum level is cute. Well, that wouldn’t seem to happen in the real world though... Ah, my heart would beat fast at girls would eat a lot too. It’s cute when she munches on her food, and when you’re eating, doesn’t everyone look happy for some reason?
Q7 Think about the mail you would send your girlfriend after a date!
“Well, today was truly fun. As I thought, being together is fun, wasshoi, wasshoi. When shall we meet next time? Do you have anything you want to do? I’d accept any requests LOL www (shy)” [Note: Wasshoi is a phrase usually used during festivals, especially when carrying a load, so it’s pretty much a call of ‘heave-ho’, but in this case, it’s showing happiness as well] Eh? Your heart won’t beat faster at this mail? No, your heart will beat faster! I want you to realize my feelings of pretending to fool around and hiding my shyness, and have your heart beat faster~
Fujigaya Taisuke
Q1 What is something that made your heart beat faster lately?
Bell (his pet dog) gave me her paw! It’s her first time doing hand, okay? I’ve been teaching her this whole time, but she couldn’t quite remember how to do it. She finally did it though. With an expression of “Do I just have to do this?”, she put her front paw on to my hand lightly... Deeply moved, I shouted “Beeeelllllll!” (laughs). That made my heart beat really fast. After mastering the command of hand, she can now do sit and lie down too. Also, when I say, “High touch” to her, she’d stand up on her back feet and while jumping lightly, touch my hands. She’s so cute my heart beats faster. Also, after debuting, my heart is always beating faster. There are many jobs that I’m doing for the first time, and there are many times where I was able to experience something I’ve longed to do. I don’t ever want to forget this touching, heart-pounding feeling.
Q2 Something that makes your heart beat faster unintentionally?
My heart would beat fast when I see my senpai from the agency because of admiration and excitement. A while ago too, I met (Katori) Shingo-san coincidentally at the radio station and my heart beat faster! Also, scenes with long lines in dramas. There is a sense of tension in a good way, and it makes my heart beat faster.
Q3 The number one thing that made your heart beat faster?
When Toda Keiko-san introduced me on “Waratte Ii Tomo” and the phone call came. That really made my heart beat a lot faster. With my heart pounding and me getting all nervous, anyhow, it felt like all sorts of excitement came all at once.
Q4 The member that would seem to fall for a prank the easiest is?
Senga, Nika, Miyata. These three are “J’s 3 Top”, with J being the J for “junsui (pure)” (laughs). I played a lot of jokes in the past, but I’m an adult already now, so I won’t pull any pranks.
Q5 A moment when a member made your heart skip a beat?
My heart would skip a beat because of Yokoo-san. He always keep tracks of birthdays and anniversaries properly. More like, his timing is perfect. Actually, today too, I received a birthday present from Yokoo-san. My birthday is June (the interview was in August), so you think it’s late, right? But we were both busy, so this timing isn’t bad. It’s like a bit before “it’s too late”? Because of that too, he gave me the present when I wasn’t prepared for it, and my heart skipped a beat (laughs). Of course, I would give Yokoo-san presents too. We knew each other for a long time, so we’ve given each other various things...
Q6 At what time would your heart beat faster for a girl?
Sense of distance. There are moments where you’d unexpectedly get much closer, right? Like when the timing of trying to grab something is the same. At those times, if I get a sniff of a nice smell, then it’s even better (laughs). Compared to perfumes, something more natural like shampoo is better, I think.
Q7 Think about the mail you would send your girlfriend after a date!
“Thanks for today. I was really happy to be able to spend time together. Good night.” ...also, let’s add “If you have time again, let’s go somewhere. Well, I can meet you now too though? (laughs)” to that too. If the other person replies with, “I want to see you immediately too”, I’d go immediately. I want to see her too (laughs). Wondering, “What kind of reply will come?” to this mail, I’d probably get all nervous too after sending!
Nikaido Takashi
Q1 What is something that made your heart beat faster lately?
Every time I do a new job that I have never experienced before like filming a PV and appearing in a live show, my heart beats faster a lot, since it’s a long-awaited chance. I want everyone to think “I want to know more about KisuMai!” and be interested in us. So that I can show the best of myself, the day before work, before sleeping, I would always do image training of how it would be like at work the next day.
Q2 Something that makes your heart beat faster unintentionally?
Every time I take photos with members with our faces pressed close to each other for magazines, my heart would beat faster due to embarrassment. Also, I might have a fear of cracks and crevices? The opening between curtains is scary. The shadows I can see in that opening would be on my mind, and thinking, “I wonder if someone is there?”, my heart would beat faster. [Note: There is trypophobia which is a fear of holes and cracks, but feeling that what Nika gave as an example is a little different, I didn’t use the term.]
Q3 The number one thing that made your heart beat faster?
I guess it’s the moment when our debut was confirmed in February. Happy, shocked, without thinking, I ended up embracing Miyata who was beside him. When our August Tokyo Dome concert was announced on the stage of Yokohama Arena in July, I was really happy too and my heart beat fast.
Q4 The member that would seem to fall for a prank the easiest is?
Everyone! I often pull pranks on everyone. After a concert has ended, everyone would take a shower. If there is a member who is washing his hair with his eyes closed, I’d erase my presence, stand in front of them in advance and scare them (laughs). The one with good reactions is Mitsu. The other day too, when I did that to Mitsu, he went, “!”, so surprised that he couldn’t say anything. His eyes were completely round too♪ If it was Miyata though, he’d go “Aah, a prank again?” and just look shocked, so he’s boring. If I do it to Gaya, there are times where he’d return the prank with one of his own! Everyone’s shocked faces are amusing though, so I can’t stop. From hereon too, I’ll keep on pulling pranks (laughs).
Q5 A moment when a member made your heart skip a beat?
I’m seriously addicted to the drama “Ikemen Desu ne”, and every week, Tama and Taipi make my heart skip a beat. Tama’s angry faces, Taipi’s sad faces, they’re all acting of the two as their characters completely, but the expressions I don’t see from them normally are very interesting.
Q6 At what time would your heart beat faster for a girl?
I can’t think of any casual movements that would make my heart beat faster. The moment I think how it’s somehow fun to be together and “I might like this person!?”, my heart would suddenly throb (laughs). For me, my type is someone who is natural and isn’t showy. The reason for me liking someone isn’t in the appearance, but the interior. I’m attracted to someone who has her own opinions properly and when her opinion is different from mine, she’d say clearly, “I think it’s this!” If I go out with a girl who would give me stimuli, my heart might always be pounding, and that’s nice.
Q7 Think about the mail you would send your girlfriend after a date!
Can I decide on the setting where after we part at a station or something, saying, “Well, see you~!”, I send a mail to her immediately?” “Until you reach your house, it’s a date.” No, that’s not it... With high tension, probably “Until you reach your house, it’s a da~te♪” (laughs). Like, when you were a child, on the way back from an outing, didn’t your teacher say to you, “Until you get back home, it’s still an outing!”? It’s that tension! Until the girl gets back home, I want her to soak in the feelings after going on a date with me.
Kitayama Hiromitsu
Q1 What is something that made your heart beat faster lately?
My heart beat faster reading a book. It was a book about...taking marriage as an opportunity, the writer throwing away various things including his work and went travelling overseas with his wife. There are photos that the person took at his trip’s destinations and along with them are proses about what he felt, his way of living and such. Those words rang inside of me directly, and my heart throb violently after not having done so in a while. I got energy from it, and it really influenced me. To the point that, “Maybe I’ll go on a trip too!?” (laughs). Through that book, my view on life has seriously changed. Also, when the huge billboard you can see from the scramble crossing at Shibuya became KisuMai’s poster, my heart beat faster as well. Since for a long time, I was thinking, “I want to be on there one day”, so I felt, “Yes!!”
Q2 Something that makes your heart beat faster unintentionally?
I’m the type to not feel that nervous before shows and performances. No matter what song though, I’d get nervous 0.5 seconds before I starting my first part of the song. My heart would skip a beat at the moment where the introduction plays and I take a breath. It’s not about technique, but it’s like a mental battle.
Q3 The number one thing that made your heart beat faster?
The moment I fell from the stage at KAT-TUN’s Tokyo Dome concert. To be honest, I thought, “That was dangerous~ I thought I was going to die”, and my heart beat really quickly. Afterwards though, I heard of a jinx that, “Those who fall off the stage will become a star”, so it became a heart-pounding feeling of anticipation (laughs).
Q4 The member that would seem to fall for a prank the easiest is?
Senga! He seems like the type to not have doubts about these kind of things and would believe anything. I think it was about when Senga was a junior high or high school student... I wasn’t angry, but there was this one time where I purposely pretended to be angry and scared him (laughs). When I immediately told him, “That was a joke”, and treated him kindly, Senga ended up crying. Senga is just that pure, yes.
Q5 A moment when a member made your heart skip a beat?
In December of 2009, during our first solo concert tour, we had our press conference on stage. One of the reporters asked, “What do you want to do from hereon?” The first one to answer was Miyacchi, but right off the bat, he said, “Debut!”, so that surprised me. It was when still nothing was confirmed (laughs). Everyone wanted to debut. But there’s this feeling of we can’t say something like that too much ourselves, yea? Miyacchi really threw that out suddenly, so it was like, “What are you saying here!!” (laughs). But well, it’s because Miyacchi said that and not anyone else that our feelings were conveyed to various people.
Q6 At what time would your heart beat faster for a girl?
When she is desperately standing up for a friend, or when her friend is standing up for her. When I see something like that, it makes my chest tighten, I think. It’s like, it’s nice “to be able to become desperate for a friend” and it’s also nice “to have a friend who would be desperate for you”.
Q7 Think about the mail you would send your girlfriend after a date!
That’s hard (laughs). “Thanks for today. Where are you now? I’ll go there.” I won’t use emoticons. After finishing a date, to get, “Let’s meet immediately again”, it’s an unexpected heartthrob ♡, right?
Senga Kento
Q1 What is something that made your heart beat faster lately?
When I passed by a pet shop, there was a pug who kept on looking at me, and that made my heart throb! Without thinking, I ended up conversing with him with my eyes, asking, “What’s the matter, what’s the matter?” He was cute! Pug is the breed that Nika has. At my home, we have a toy poodle who’s always barking and energetic, Puu. The my-paced part of pugs is similar to me though, and they’re a breed I’m somehow curious about. If one day, I meet a pug who I feel destined with, I might end up bringing him home!?
Q2 Something that makes your heart beat faster unintentionally?
I’m scared of heights, so every time I ride on a rollercoaster, my heart would beat faster. I really don’t like the moment you fall with a pull. Always, I’d get teary thinking, “I might die” (laughs). To the point that once I get on, I cling on to the safety bars, and for most of the time, I’d keep my eyes closed. When I get off though, I’d be overflowing with feelings of accomplishment, so I don’t hate it. I can experience the feeling of “I did something I have difficulty dealing with!”
Q3 The number one thing that made your heart beat faster?
The moment it was announced that our debut was confirmed during the concert in February. When Mitsu opened the envelope, I was at the back, so I couldn’t see really well. When I peeked, wondering, “What is it? What is it?”, “This summer, debut” was written there. I was really moved! I did things like hugging Watta, and going “Yosha!” with everyone, arms around each other, and my heart wouldn’t stop beating fast.
Q4 The member that would seem to fall for a prank the easiest is?
Nika. He’s pure so he’d easily fall for pranks! I often do a surprise attack on Nika by going “Wah!” in a loud voice and scaring him, meddling around with him. Nika’s reactions are huge and he’d be very noisy, so it’s funny.
Q5 A moment when a member made your heart skip a beat?
Nika and I always play tricks on each other, but he’d even get me after concerts and when I’m showering, so he’d make my heart skip a beat. When I’m washing my hair, I’d feel a presence, and when I open my eyes quickly, the curtains would be completely opened! The curtains were probably opened secretly. The other members all laughed seeing me wash my hair without noticing. Since I was shocked, I shouted, “Uwah, what is this!” (laughs).
Q6 At what time would your heart beat faster for a girl?
I like girls who have a somewhat masculine sense of humour and are frank. When that kind of girl acts spoiled around me only, it makes my heart beat faster (laughs). Even though she is aloof normally, when she acts kind to me, that kind of gap strikes home with me. Perhaps, I like tsundere!? [Note: Tsundere describes a person who seems aloof, cold, even mean at first, but has a warm side to him/her that they show either over time and/or to people they like]
Q7 Think about the mail you would send your girlfriend after a date!
“I give you permission to like me!” Just kidding, just kidding! That’s Tama’s line from a drama (laughs). If it’s after a date, I’m the type to prefer phone over mail, saying, “Thank you for today!” so I can convey my feelings directly. If I have to mail her, let’s see. “It’s great to have been able to see you today. It was fun. I want to be with you more☆”, I guess. I want to say, “I don’t want to separate from you”, but perhaps it can be conveyed with that? ...more like, it’s embarrassing! I can’t say sweet things~ Really, I don’t deal with this, so stop it already (laughs).

The early afternoon with the smell of summer still remaining. The bus stop, the cafe, the park... We’re reporting episodes from each of the heart-throbbing photoshoots!
Taisuke ♥ Toshiya
★ To the cafe, Fujigaya and Miyata GO! The sun was still a bit strong, but it was an open terrace with a great atmosphere. When asked about his order, Fujigaya immediately answered with, “Herb tea!” Unfortunately, it wasn’t on the menu, so he immediately changed it to, “Ice tea then!” Miyata chose “chocolate banana cheesecake” and fujigaya chose “maple cheesecake”. After having one bite, the two immediately called and stopped the cafe’s staff and reported to them, “It’s delicious♪” In response to the photoshoot that seemed like a date, Fujigaya sighed, “It’s new how it’s not Tama by Miyata’s side, but me (laughs)”. Sharing cake, and not sharing cake (but he shared properly in the end), to the two of them who love sweets, it was the perfect location shoot for them.
Yuuta ♥ Wataru
★ The ones who did a photoshoot at the bus stop were Tamamori and Yokoo. They’res a strange pair with a la~x atmosphere flowing around them. While Tamamori was shooting for his solo shots, the one who got curious about a gallery near the bus stop and went towards it casually, saying, “Can I go check it out?” was Yokoo. We asked Tamamori, “Let us take photos of you looking cute!”, but despite that all he showed us were funny faces... Tamamori who was worried about the bag used as a prop, saying, “The shot just now, I wasn’t holding it? Is that okay?” Yokoo said, “I guess it’s thanks to the drama that he cares about props as well? Tama, you’re totally an actor now~” and when told that, Tamamori went, “Stop that (laughs)” and it was a bashful scene. While showing the face of a good-looking guy sharply, the figure of him hugging the bus stop sign was the usual “Tama-chan”.
Hiromitsu ♥ Kento ♥ Takashi
★ Team Kitayama, Senga, and Nikaido is at the park! When they got on the play equipment that rocks back and forth, the three of them got carried away and rocked it intensely. With excessive force, the one who flew off was Senga. He laughed, saying, “That surprised me (laughs)” while being covered in sand. Nikaido, who went on the swings, couldn’t swing properly on the swing because his legs were too long. “This is even scarier!” He swayed slowly while being scared. “Nah, nah, how do you draw that again?” “Like this right?” What Kitayama and Senga were drawing with zeal was a magic circle-like something from a certain anime. Around the slide, we heard Senga’s voice once again going, “Uwah!” It seemed like Nikaido had played a trick on him, and there at the space at the top of the slide, Senga seemed to be saying something like, “That’s why I always told you, you can’t do this!” to Nikaido, like Senga was scolding him.

Tamamori Yuuta
Q1 What is something that made your heart beat faster lately?
Right now, there really is nothing in private that makes my heart beat faster, you know? That’s because once I get home, I just go to sleep immediately! When I read the script for the drama “Ikemen Desu ne” which I’m appearing in, my heart always beats faster. At those times, I’m probably grinning (laughs). My heart beats faster just from reading the story. So that everyone who watches the drama can feel this heart-throbbing feeling too, I want to play Ren with all my might! Also, when we’re filming outside, and someone who spotted me calls me, “Ren-sama~!”, my heart skips a beat and my tension raises. Probably right now, the percentage of my heart beating faster at that is higher than being called “Tama-chan~!” (laughs). Ah, when I appeared together with other members in “Waratte Ii Tomo!”, my heart also beat really quickly. After debuting, the number of jobs that I am trying for the first time has increased. “Ii Tomo” is a show I had watched since I was a kid, so for myself to be able to appear in it, I was too happy so my heart beat faster!
Q2 Something that makes your heart beat faster unintentionally?
My heart always beats faster when I think about, “I wonder if I can wake up early properly in the morning?” I’m scared of oversleeping to the point that I have days I can’t sleep until the morning because I’m too nervous (laughs). It’s because being late is definitely not good.
Q3 The number one thing that made your heart beat faster?
Eh~ I wonder what...ah, the moment I turned 20 years old! When I was a teenager, I longed to be 20 and I wanted to be an adult faster, so I was really looking forward to it.
Q4 The member that would seem to fall for a prank the easiest is?
Nikaido! He’s honest, so it seems like he’d get tricked immediately. I think he’d get really scared with pranks involving ghosts especially? That guy really hates ghosts, so he’d definitely make some good noise (laughs).
Q5 A moment when a member made your heart skip a beat?
Miyata made my heart skip a beat! It’s when we backdances for KAT-TUN’s World Tour and went to Korea with them. The “toilet incident” at the hotel room I stayed together with Miyata. The toilet in the room wasn’t working well already at the beginning, but before we went to sleep though, Miyata finally broke it and so, I had to endure not going for one night. Since it was late already, it wasn’t like I could wake up members in other rooms, and I don’t understand Korean, so I couldn’t call the front desk to fix it for us... Since it couldn’t be helped, I slept while blaming Miyata (laughs). My heart was beating quickly until the morning~ To be accurate, it wasn’t Miyata’s fault though, but feelings-wise, I felt that “Miyata got me!”
Q6 At what time would your heart beat faster for a girl?
I’m not really the type for my heart to flutter, but when a girl shows me a smile, my heart beats faster. I think girls that smile radiantly are nice~ and cute~
Q7 Think about the mail you would send your girlfriend after a date!
“THank you for being with me today. I want to go somewhere for a date next time too ♡” Just in case, “Thank you for being with me” is a heart-throbbing point. I’ll leave the place for the next date for the girl to decide. That’s because I want to feel my heart beat faster, seeing her think about the next date with all her might.
Yokoo Wataru
Q1 What is something that made your heart beat faster lately?
A while ago, I took the shinkansen on my own. At first, I was gazing at the scenery while listening to music, but I ended up sleeping without realizing it... When I suddenly woke up, I happened to see the platform of a station, so I thought, “Perhaps it’s my destination?” and got off. It was still the station before it though, so I frantically got back on the shinkansen and was safe! My heart beat faster and my sleepiness disappeared at once (laughs).
Q2 Something that makes your heart beat faster unintentionally?
I’m scared of the dark so it makes my heart beat faster! If it’s completely dark, I can’t relax and sleep, so before, I slept with the TV on. Lately, in order to preserve energy, I try to listen to music on my music player and sleep. When I listen to a CD with the sounds of the ocean, I’d fall asleep deeply before I knew! Also, I don’t deal well with dark streets at night. If I have to walk my girlfriend home at the end of a date though, even if it’s a completely dark street, I’d pretend I’m fine. The moment she enters her house safely, I think I’d dash home (laughs).
Q3 The number one thing that made your heart beat faster?
This spring, my oldest brother and his wife had their first daughter. To me, she’s my niece. When I got to hold her for the first time, I thought, “I mustn’t drop her,” and my heart was beating fast. She got quite a bit of saliva on my clothes, but I was like, “I can just wash it~♡ It’s alright!” and was totally okay with it. She was so cute, I was totally fawning over her (laughs). Lately, it’s fun for me to look at children’s clothing, so I go to the shops a lot. I bought and gave my niece a stylish jinbei and baby bottle. [Note: Jinbei is a traditional, but informal summer set of clothes, previously for males only, but nowadays, there are sets made for females as well.]
Q4 The member that would seem to fall for a prank the easiest is?
As I thought, the mischievous NiSen (Nikaido and Senga) probably since the two still have a child-like pure side to them. I think they’d get tricked, and just honestly say, “They got me!” and be delighted. Well, since the two of them love pranks, they are also the pair to play pranks on everyone else conversely too. Incidentally, the ones that seem to would not fall for a prank are Gaya and Tama. These two have good intuition, so I think they’d immediately realize it’s a prank.
Q5 A moment when a member made your heart skip a beat?
For my birthday last year, I was eating dinner with Goseki (Koichi) and Kawai (Fumito) together. Then, in the middle of it, Kitayama, Miyata, and Tama joined us and they celebrated with me. It was a surprise, so I was shocked. I got things like rice and seasoning stuff from Kitayama and Miyata, and Tama gave me bath goods as a present.
Q6 At what time would your heart beat faster for a girl?
My heart would beat faster when I see her do her best with work where no one was looking, and I’d respect her too. The figure of a girl being relaxed strikes home with me. That’s why I don’t deal well with the type of girl that calculates her actions. When you’re eating in a large group, there’d be someone who would divide the food from the large dishes, right? Those girls who are eager in situations like those where “everyone is watching”, I’d think, “Maybe she’s doing this in an attempt to be popular?” Of course, I know there are girls who just are really kind (laughs). My heart would squeeze seeing her do her best where no one was looking.
Q7 Think about the mail you would send your girlfriend after a date!
I’d take photos of the date course we went on that day secretly in advance without letting her find out. Then, I want to send a mail saying, “Thanks for today. It’s fun to be able to go here! I want to see you again. Where do you want to go next time?” and attach photos to it. Since I’m basically not the type to say sw~eet words, this is to the best of my ability! (laughs)
Miyata Toshiya
Q1 What is something that made your heart beat faster lately?
My heart was beating fast every day before debut. I have a calendar beside the telephone at home, and every day, I was counting down alone. Of course, I drew a circle around August 10th. There were circles around the days my mother has work too, so it became one of the circles among those (laughs). Oh right, a while ago, in the middle of my sleep, suddenly, I felt that someone trespassed into our house, and I woke up in a flash. Since everyone in my family had already went to sleep, I thought, “It might be a thief!?” and checked around the house. I was scared and my heart was beating fast, but thinking, “I’m going to protect my family!”, I did my best. In the end, there was no one there, that really was a relief~ Just what was that feeling of “Is someone there?”
Q2 Something that makes your heart beat faster unintentionally?
Every time I go outside in the summer, my heart would beat faster. Thinking, “Will I sweat on my way to the station? If I did, I wouldn’t like that”, and my heart beats fast (laughs). That’s because it’s embarrassing to go on the train all sweaty. Also, when I have to wake up early the following morning, I’d wonder if I can wake up and my heart beats faster. For example, when I need to wake up at 6 o’clock, I’d get into my futon, and think, “Tomorrow is 6 o’clock, 6 o’clock, 6 o’clock...” and keep giving myself suggestions. Like, writing the number “6” on various parts of my body like my arms and face. If I don’t do it like it’s magic, it won’t work (laughs).
Q3 The number one thing that made your heart beat faster?
I think it was roughly when I was still in kindergarten. On the street, when I passed by a junior high school student, he clicked his tongue at me, and that night, my heart was beating so fast I couldn’t sleep. I was really scared. I was very frightened, thinking of things like, “Maybe that junior high school student knows where my house is?” “Maybe he’ll come in the middle of the night?”
Q4 The member that would seem to fall for a prank the easiest is?
Nikaido I think. That guys is always on the side of playing prank-like jokes on people. That’s why, conversely, there’s a part of him that thinks, “By no means, I’d be pranked on”, so I think he’d be unprepared.
Q5 A moment when a member made your heart skip a beat?
Since I’m a scaredy-cat, I’d be startled with just someone going “Wah!” from behind me. There were so many times my heart skip a beat that I don’t remember all of them. If I remember all of them, the HDD (hard disk drive) in my head would burst (laughs).
Q6 At what time would your heart beat faster for a girl?
To explain with a pattern that anime tend to have, if I was told something, “What are you, an idiot!” while the girl has her face all red and is embarrassed, my heart would beat faster. How she’s embarrassed at maximum level is cute. Well, that wouldn’t seem to happen in the real world though... Ah, my heart would beat fast at girls would eat a lot too. It’s cute when she munches on her food, and when you’re eating, doesn’t everyone look happy for some reason?
Q7 Think about the mail you would send your girlfriend after a date!
“Well, today was truly fun. As I thought, being together is fun, wasshoi, wasshoi. When shall we meet next time? Do you have anything you want to do? I’d accept any requests LOL www (shy)” [Note: Wasshoi is a phrase usually used during festivals, especially when carrying a load, so it’s pretty much a call of ‘heave-ho’, but in this case, it’s showing happiness as well] Eh? Your heart won’t beat faster at this mail? No, your heart will beat faster! I want you to realize my feelings of pretending to fool around and hiding my shyness, and have your heart beat faster~
Fujigaya Taisuke
Q1 What is something that made your heart beat faster lately?
Bell (his pet dog) gave me her paw! It’s her first time doing hand, okay? I’ve been teaching her this whole time, but she couldn’t quite remember how to do it. She finally did it though. With an expression of “Do I just have to do this?”, she put her front paw on to my hand lightly... Deeply moved, I shouted “Beeeelllllll!” (laughs). That made my heart beat really fast. After mastering the command of hand, she can now do sit and lie down too. Also, when I say, “High touch” to her, she’d stand up on her back feet and while jumping lightly, touch my hands. She’s so cute my heart beats faster. Also, after debuting, my heart is always beating faster. There are many jobs that I’m doing for the first time, and there are many times where I was able to experience something I’ve longed to do. I don’t ever want to forget this touching, heart-pounding feeling.
Q2 Something that makes your heart beat faster unintentionally?
My heart would beat fast when I see my senpai from the agency because of admiration and excitement. A while ago too, I met (Katori) Shingo-san coincidentally at the radio station and my heart beat faster! Also, scenes with long lines in dramas. There is a sense of tension in a good way, and it makes my heart beat faster.
Q3 The number one thing that made your heart beat faster?
When Toda Keiko-san introduced me on “Waratte Ii Tomo” and the phone call came. That really made my heart beat a lot faster. With my heart pounding and me getting all nervous, anyhow, it felt like all sorts of excitement came all at once.
Q4 The member that would seem to fall for a prank the easiest is?
Senga, Nika, Miyata. These three are “J’s 3 Top”, with J being the J for “junsui (pure)” (laughs). I played a lot of jokes in the past, but I’m an adult already now, so I won’t pull any pranks.
Q5 A moment when a member made your heart skip a beat?
My heart would skip a beat because of Yokoo-san. He always keep tracks of birthdays and anniversaries properly. More like, his timing is perfect. Actually, today too, I received a birthday present from Yokoo-san. My birthday is June (the interview was in August), so you think it’s late, right? But we were both busy, so this timing isn’t bad. It’s like a bit before “it’s too late”? Because of that too, he gave me the present when I wasn’t prepared for it, and my heart skipped a beat (laughs). Of course, I would give Yokoo-san presents too. We knew each other for a long time, so we’ve given each other various things...
Q6 At what time would your heart beat faster for a girl?
Sense of distance. There are moments where you’d unexpectedly get much closer, right? Like when the timing of trying to grab something is the same. At those times, if I get a sniff of a nice smell, then it’s even better (laughs). Compared to perfumes, something more natural like shampoo is better, I think.
Q7 Think about the mail you would send your girlfriend after a date!
“Thanks for today. I was really happy to be able to spend time together. Good night.” ...also, let’s add “If you have time again, let’s go somewhere. Well, I can meet you now too though? (laughs)” to that too. If the other person replies with, “I want to see you immediately too”, I’d go immediately. I want to see her too (laughs). Wondering, “What kind of reply will come?” to this mail, I’d probably get all nervous too after sending!
Nikaido Takashi
Q1 What is something that made your heart beat faster lately?
Every time I do a new job that I have never experienced before like filming a PV and appearing in a live show, my heart beats faster a lot, since it’s a long-awaited chance. I want everyone to think “I want to know more about KisuMai!” and be interested in us. So that I can show the best of myself, the day before work, before sleeping, I would always do image training of how it would be like at work the next day.
Q2 Something that makes your heart beat faster unintentionally?
Every time I take photos with members with our faces pressed close to each other for magazines, my heart would beat faster due to embarrassment. Also, I might have a fear of cracks and crevices? The opening between curtains is scary. The shadows I can see in that opening would be on my mind, and thinking, “I wonder if someone is there?”, my heart would beat faster. [Note: There is trypophobia which is a fear of holes and cracks, but feeling that what Nika gave as an example is a little different, I didn’t use the term.]
Q3 The number one thing that made your heart beat faster?
I guess it’s the moment when our debut was confirmed in February. Happy, shocked, without thinking, I ended up embracing Miyata who was beside him. When our August Tokyo Dome concert was announced on the stage of Yokohama Arena in July, I was really happy too and my heart beat fast.
Q4 The member that would seem to fall for a prank the easiest is?
Everyone! I often pull pranks on everyone. After a concert has ended, everyone would take a shower. If there is a member who is washing his hair with his eyes closed, I’d erase my presence, stand in front of them in advance and scare them (laughs). The one with good reactions is Mitsu. The other day too, when I did that to Mitsu, he went, “!”, so surprised that he couldn’t say anything. His eyes were completely round too♪ If it was Miyata though, he’d go “Aah, a prank again?” and just look shocked, so he’s boring. If I do it to Gaya, there are times where he’d return the prank with one of his own! Everyone’s shocked faces are amusing though, so I can’t stop. From hereon too, I’ll keep on pulling pranks (laughs).
Q5 A moment when a member made your heart skip a beat?
I’m seriously addicted to the drama “Ikemen Desu ne”, and every week, Tama and Taipi make my heart skip a beat. Tama’s angry faces, Taipi’s sad faces, they’re all acting of the two as their characters completely, but the expressions I don’t see from them normally are very interesting.
Q6 At what time would your heart beat faster for a girl?
I can’t think of any casual movements that would make my heart beat faster. The moment I think how it’s somehow fun to be together and “I might like this person!?”, my heart would suddenly throb (laughs). For me, my type is someone who is natural and isn’t showy. The reason for me liking someone isn’t in the appearance, but the interior. I’m attracted to someone who has her own opinions properly and when her opinion is different from mine, she’d say clearly, “I think it’s this!” If I go out with a girl who would give me stimuli, my heart might always be pounding, and that’s nice.

Can I decide on the setting where after we part at a station or something, saying, “Well, see you~!”, I send a mail to her immediately?” “Until you reach your house, it’s a date.” No, that’s not it... With high tension, probably “Until you reach your house, it’s a da~te♪” (laughs). Like, when you were a child, on the way back from an outing, didn’t your teacher say to you, “Until you get back home, it’s still an outing!”? It’s that tension! Until the girl gets back home, I want her to soak in the feelings after going on a date with me.
Kitayama Hiromitsu
Q1 What is something that made your heart beat faster lately?
My heart beat faster reading a book. It was a book about...taking marriage as an opportunity, the writer throwing away various things including his work and went travelling overseas with his wife. There are photos that the person took at his trip’s destinations and along with them are proses about what he felt, his way of living and such. Those words rang inside of me directly, and my heart throb violently after not having done so in a while. I got energy from it, and it really influenced me. To the point that, “Maybe I’ll go on a trip too!?” (laughs). Through that book, my view on life has seriously changed. Also, when the huge billboard you can see from the scramble crossing at Shibuya became KisuMai’s poster, my heart beat faster as well. Since for a long time, I was thinking, “I want to be on there one day”, so I felt, “Yes!!”
Q2 Something that makes your heart beat faster unintentionally?
I’m the type to not feel that nervous before shows and performances. No matter what song though, I’d get nervous 0.5 seconds before I starting my first part of the song. My heart would skip a beat at the moment where the introduction plays and I take a breath. It’s not about technique, but it’s like a mental battle.
Q3 The number one thing that made your heart beat faster?
The moment I fell from the stage at KAT-TUN’s Tokyo Dome concert. To be honest, I thought, “That was dangerous~ I thought I was going to die”, and my heart beat really quickly. Afterwards though, I heard of a jinx that, “Those who fall off the stage will become a star”, so it became a heart-pounding feeling of anticipation (laughs).
Q4 The member that would seem to fall for a prank the easiest is?
Senga! He seems like the type to not have doubts about these kind of things and would believe anything. I think it was about when Senga was a junior high or high school student... I wasn’t angry, but there was this one time where I purposely pretended to be angry and scared him (laughs). When I immediately told him, “That was a joke”, and treated him kindly, Senga ended up crying. Senga is just that pure, yes.
Q5 A moment when a member made your heart skip a beat?
In December of 2009, during our first solo concert tour, we had our press conference on stage. One of the reporters asked, “What do you want to do from hereon?” The first one to answer was Miyacchi, but right off the bat, he said, “Debut!”, so that surprised me. It was when still nothing was confirmed (laughs). Everyone wanted to debut. But there’s this feeling of we can’t say something like that too much ourselves, yea? Miyacchi really threw that out suddenly, so it was like, “What are you saying here!!” (laughs). But well, it’s because Miyacchi said that and not anyone else that our feelings were conveyed to various people.
Q6 At what time would your heart beat faster for a girl?
When she is desperately standing up for a friend, or when her friend is standing up for her. When I see something like that, it makes my chest tighten, I think. It’s like, it’s nice “to be able to become desperate for a friend” and it’s also nice “to have a friend who would be desperate for you”.
Q7 Think about the mail you would send your girlfriend after a date!
That’s hard (laughs). “Thanks for today. Where are you now? I’ll go there.” I won’t use emoticons. After finishing a date, to get, “Let’s meet immediately again”, it’s an unexpected heartthrob ♡, right?
Senga Kento
Q1 What is something that made your heart beat faster lately?
When I passed by a pet shop, there was a pug who kept on looking at me, and that made my heart throb! Without thinking, I ended up conversing with him with my eyes, asking, “What’s the matter, what’s the matter?” He was cute! Pug is the breed that Nika has. At my home, we have a toy poodle who’s always barking and energetic, Puu. The my-paced part of pugs is similar to me though, and they’re a breed I’m somehow curious about. If one day, I meet a pug who I feel destined with, I might end up bringing him home!?
Q2 Something that makes your heart beat faster unintentionally?
I’m scared of heights, so every time I ride on a rollercoaster, my heart would beat faster. I really don’t like the moment you fall with a pull. Always, I’d get teary thinking, “I might die” (laughs). To the point that once I get on, I cling on to the safety bars, and for most of the time, I’d keep my eyes closed. When I get off though, I’d be overflowing with feelings of accomplishment, so I don’t hate it. I can experience the feeling of “I did something I have difficulty dealing with!”
Q3 The number one thing that made your heart beat faster?
The moment it was announced that our debut was confirmed during the concert in February. When Mitsu opened the envelope, I was at the back, so I couldn’t see really well. When I peeked, wondering, “What is it? What is it?”, “This summer, debut” was written there. I was really moved! I did things like hugging Watta, and going “Yosha!” with everyone, arms around each other, and my heart wouldn’t stop beating fast.
Q4 The member that would seem to fall for a prank the easiest is?
Nika. He’s pure so he’d easily fall for pranks! I often do a surprise attack on Nika by going “Wah!” in a loud voice and scaring him, meddling around with him. Nika’s reactions are huge and he’d be very noisy, so it’s funny.
Q5 A moment when a member made your heart skip a beat?
Nika and I always play tricks on each other, but he’d even get me after concerts and when I’m showering, so he’d make my heart skip a beat. When I’m washing my hair, I’d feel a presence, and when I open my eyes quickly, the curtains would be completely opened! The curtains were probably opened secretly. The other members all laughed seeing me wash my hair without noticing. Since I was shocked, I shouted, “Uwah, what is this!” (laughs).
Q6 At what time would your heart beat faster for a girl?
I like girls who have a somewhat masculine sense of humour and are frank. When that kind of girl acts spoiled around me only, it makes my heart beat faster (laughs). Even though she is aloof normally, when she acts kind to me, that kind of gap strikes home with me. Perhaps, I like tsundere!? [Note: Tsundere describes a person who seems aloof, cold, even mean at first, but has a warm side to him/her that they show either over time and/or to people they like]
Q7 Think about the mail you would send your girlfriend after a date!
“I give you permission to like me!” Just kidding, just kidding! That’s Tama’s line from a drama (laughs). If it’s after a date, I’m the type to prefer phone over mail, saying, “Thank you for today!” so I can convey my feelings directly. If I have to mail her, let’s see. “It’s great to have been able to see you today. It was fun. I want to be with you more☆”, I guess. I want to say, “I don’t want to separate from you”, but perhaps it can be conveyed with that? ...more like, it’s embarrassing! I can’t say sweet things~ Really, I don’t deal with this, so stop it already (laughs).

The early afternoon with the smell of summer still remaining. The bus stop, the cafe, the park... We’re reporting episodes from each of the heart-throbbing photoshoots!
Taisuke ♥ Toshiya
★ To the cafe, Fujigaya and Miyata GO! The sun was still a bit strong, but it was an open terrace with a great atmosphere. When asked about his order, Fujigaya immediately answered with, “Herb tea!” Unfortunately, it wasn’t on the menu, so he immediately changed it to, “Ice tea then!” Miyata chose “chocolate banana cheesecake” and fujigaya chose “maple cheesecake”. After having one bite, the two immediately called and stopped the cafe’s staff and reported to them, “It’s delicious♪” In response to the photoshoot that seemed like a date, Fujigaya sighed, “It’s new how it’s not Tama by Miyata’s side, but me (laughs)”. Sharing cake, and not sharing cake (but he shared properly in the end), to the two of them who love sweets, it was the perfect location shoot for them.
Yuuta ♥ Wataru
★ The ones who did a photoshoot at the bus stop were Tamamori and Yokoo. They’res a strange pair with a la~x atmosphere flowing around them. While Tamamori was shooting for his solo shots, the one who got curious about a gallery near the bus stop and went towards it casually, saying, “Can I go check it out?” was Yokoo. We asked Tamamori, “Let us take photos of you looking cute!”, but despite that all he showed us were funny faces... Tamamori who was worried about the bag used as a prop, saying, “The shot just now, I wasn’t holding it? Is that okay?” Yokoo said, “I guess it’s thanks to the drama that he cares about props as well? Tama, you’re totally an actor now~” and when told that, Tamamori went, “Stop that (laughs)” and it was a bashful scene. While showing the face of a good-looking guy sharply, the figure of him hugging the bus stop sign was the usual “Tama-chan”.
