Kis-My-Ft2 - Wink Up May 2011

Jan 30, 2013 23:45

Thank you for all the birthday wishes! \o/ I will try to reply to them individually tomorrow or so, but know for sure all the wishes made me very happy!

Here's one more post before today ends!

Considering the topic, this article might be more appropriate to post in two weeks as it'll be their debut announcement anniversary and release of their 6th single, but I really wanted to post a group interview, and this is the only one I have completed so far! (By the way, the izakaya I went to today played My Resistance at one point. It was kind of epic and appropriate. There was Mystery Virgin too, and with the intro, I thought they were playing the Kindaichi OST XD)

It's a bit early, but yes, debut-related interview, and like, feelings!

Translation. Crosstalk where they look back on the debut announcement. What they felt, how they reacted, some bits about the press conference, fantasizing about what they want to do after debut, plus the importance of custom-made ear monitors.

Kis-My-Ft2
Come on, the party here on out!

A photoshoot with a motif of heading out to a party. For them, a big party (= debut) is coming soon. After the debut announcement, Wink Up had the timing for the first interview, so the contents of their dialogues were liven up by inside stories of when their debut was announced and their goals from hereon.

The shock I felt then was really something ...Senga Kento

That...was seriously amazing. There was something that made me overcome with emotions ...Tamamori Yuuta

During the announcement, I was seriously happy and got teary ...Miyata Toshiya

(The announcement on stage) was a real “moment in history”, I think ...Kitayama Hiromitsu

After hopping and stepping, we can finally make a jump ...Yokoo Wataru

My mind was completely blank, and I can’t remember anything

Yokoo: Isn’t this the first time to talk about that moment of the debut announcement on stage like this with the seven of us?

Senga: That might be true. We were asked about our thoughts one by one though... The shock was really something.

Nikaido: I still see it in my dreams even now.

Kitayama: That really was a “moment in history”, wasn’t it? For KisuMai of course, but to have a debut announced like that within the agency of Johnnys, it has never happened before, right?

Yokoo: I think? Ah, in the April issue of Wink Up, Yasui-kun talked about bringing that announcement envelope to us. [Note: The article with Yasui has been translated here - scroll down to appropriate section]

Kitayama: I know! I heard it from the staff just now and read it. He said good things. I’m happy too.

Yokoo: The one who said “Thank you” to Yasui-kun is actually me (laughs).

Fujigaya: It’s not like Yasui-kun decided that KisuMai will debut (laughs), but somehow, we felt that way.

Kitayama: I remember when Yasui-kun entered the agency, somehow.

Yokoo: Despite how he looks, he’s surprisingly mature. If I remember correctly, he’s a year younger than Kento?

Nikaido: You’re kidding, seriously!? 19 years old!?

Miyata: Yea, yea, I was shocked too. Somehow, he looks like he's in the first year of high school...or he might even be able to pass as a junior high schooler (laughs).

Nikaido: Seriously!? Is that so!?

Tamamori: He looks like he’s 15 or 16 years old.

Fujigaya: It’s almost time for the adult ceremony for him, huh~

Kitayama: Aah~ For sure I was told things like that too (laughs). I’m the same with Yasui, the pattern of becoming a Junior after entering high school (laughs).

Fujigaya: ...more like, without us noticing, the theme of the talk has turned to “Yasui” (laughs). Do you remember the moment you saw the paper?

Nikaido: My mind was completely blank, and I can’t remember anything. I couldn’t see anything around me.

Miyata: It was the same with me.

Yokoo: Miyata and Kento...their faces were seriously something.

Fujigaya: Right. Kento was beside me, but his face was seriously something.

Senga: Can you not say my face was seriously something (laughs)? I was too shocked.

Fujigaya: The next day when it was shown on wide shows, there was a part where Miyata looked like he was wiping away tears, but were those tears? Or sweat?

Miyata: Aah, that. That was...completely a moment of me wiping my sweat (laughs).

Senga: Aaah~ Fans are disappointed (laughs).

Miyata: That’s not it. During the announcement, I was seriously happy and got teary, but the scene that was aired was when I was wiping my sweat.

Yokoo: Miyata was honestly teary during like “Inori”, yea.

But that, to be honest, you thought everyone would follow you, didn’t you?

Nikaido: During that moment of announcement, I felt that there’s one thing I failed with. The person I hugged without thinking was............Miyata.

All: Ahahahaha!

Miyata: Who are you calling a failure! From that force of yours, I fell down to the floor together with you!

Nikaido: I found out that humans would cling onto other people when they’re really happy.

Fujigaya: In these times though, humans would turn to the person they’re most open with. So, Nikaido opens his heart to Miyata the most.

Nikaido: Eh? ...is that how I am? I’m noooooot aware of that at all.

Tamamori: Right, right. That’s why starting today, Miyata is yours!

Kitayama: Unlike Nika, I had a really sporty type of reaction. That...when you’re happy, you would make a dash (laughs).

Yokoo: Right, right. Suddenly, you ran towards the center stage while holding on to the piece of paper. But that, to be honest, you thought everyone would follow you, didn’t you?

Kitayama: Yea! But when I turned around, there was no~one there.

Yokoo: Also, Kitayama-san, it’s fine that you took the paper out of the envelope and were able to read it perfectly, but people like me at the back had no idea what was going on. Not to mention you suddenly shouted things like waaaah~~~

Senga: I’m like that too! You suddenly shouted though, so I thought perhaps by any chance... But as I thought, I wanted to confirm it with my own eyes!

Kitayama: Ahaha, sorry, sorry.

Fujigaya: Then, you look at the paper and it has “‘Misaki’ DVD release confirmed!” on it, right?

Kitayama: That would make me happy too, but in that atmosphere, it’d be awkward (laughs).

Nikaido: Miyata and I saw that paper clearly. I remember the two of us saying in a small voice, “Eh, seriously?” My eyesight is pretty bad normally, but at that moment, I’m sure I had an eyesight of about 8.0 (laughs).

Fujigaya: What kind of reaction did I have again? I think I threw my arms around someone. Who is it, the one I’m most open with......Tama?

Tamamori: No, it wasn’t me!

Fujigaya: Hey! You didn’t have to disagree with such force (laughs)! ...eh, I was acting independently then (laughs)?

Senga: No, Gaya-san and I were hugging each other for sure.

Kitayama: I was hugging with Tama!

Especially when you’re sweating, they definitely slip out from that dance move

Fujigaya: That moment, compared to feeling happy, I had flashbacks of various memories to date.

Miyata: I know! It was like that with me too.

Senga: After the announcement, I was surprised by how the audience in the venue were crying a lot.

Yokoo: Also, Tama was amazing too. He was beside me, but he was like dumbfounded.

Tamamori: That...was seriously amazing. There was something that made me overcome with emotions.

Kitayama: Yea. Do you all have dreams about after debut? I want to try doing that at concerts. Everyone moving on the moving stage and water fountains splurts up with a bang!

All: That’s good, that’s good!

Yokoo: Appearing on a blimp during an encore...too!

All: That’s good too~!

Nikaido: Also, we get to have earmoni (ear monitors) fit to each of our ears made, right? Seeing how senpai of debut groups using them, I longed for those.

Fujigaya: I know! Our senapi are showing their individualities with them. Things like “What colour will you go for?” seems fun~~

Kitayama: As long as we have those earmoni, no matter how much we spin our heads for “Fire Beat”, they won’t come off...(laughs).

Tamamori: Right! Especially when you’re sweating, they definitely slip out from that dance move. That’s why I take them out right beforehand.

Miyata: It’s fine if you take them out completely, but sometimes, only the sponge part is left in your ear, so you have to be careful (laughs).

Kitayama: Right! I’ve witnessed Miyata being almost at the end of his wits because of that once (laughs).

Miyata: I couldn’t comprehend the situation and was like, “Huh? My earmoni?” and when I stuck my finger into my ear, I found the sponge stuck inside.

Kitayama: You were like, “Crap, crap, crap, look, look, look!” and it wasn’t a normal way of fretting.

Fujigaya: With this then, Miyata too can have peace of mind.

Yokoo: Well, if we get them made that is. This is our fantasy at most (laughs).

At least today, let me fantasize as much as I want (laughs)

Kitayama: I’m really looking forward to concerts after debut though. Since there are a lot of restraints when it comes to the contents and ways of performing as Juniors, I’m really happy about that scope expanding. There were good things as Juniors too though. To some extent, we were free to choose what songs to do, right?

Senga: Right. For KisuMai, we had a lot of self-produced parts, so for that to change, I’m looking forward to it, but I also feel uneasy...

Nikaido: I wonder if the concert titles will change. Right now, we went up to “Kis-My-Ft ni Aeru de SHOW Vol.3”.

Fujigaya: What would you do, if we keeep on going with this pattern? Like, “32” (laughs).

Tamamori: Eh~ I want to change it! I want to do something like a tour with an album title.

Kitayama: Oh? I think it’s alright for us to keeep on going with this too.

Tamamori: I see. Un, maybe that pattern is fine too.

Fujigaya: You, how weak (laughs).

Senga: Also, it’d be nice if we can get jobs we’ve never done before, like variety shows.

Miyata: It’d be nice if one day, we can do a show with our name in the title.

Yokoo: First, start during the midnight time slot, then it becomes the talk of the town and to golden time! ...sorry, at least today, let me fantasize as much as I want (laughs).

To say “chan” yourself is embarrassing (laughs)

Kitayama: That’s a good idea, variety shows! We can have members produce various corners. Fantasies can expand as much as we like (laughs).

Senga: Honestly, I’m so happy for our debut to be confirmed. From when our group was formed until now, a lot has happened.

Fujigaya: It might be different as seen from a third person’s point of view, but within ourselves, “the period of winter” has been long.

Yokoo: We’ve had member changes too, so it wasn’t like...we were able to reach this point without any trouble.

Kitayama: Even people interviewing us from the mass media would for sure say earnestly, “It’s been long” (laughs).

Fujigaya: Speaking of interviews with the mass media, after the show where our debut was announced, we were surrounded by reporters, and we had a short interview, right? At that time, we were told, “Tell us your names and nicknames,” but with that atmosphere, it was really hard to say (laughs). Within a very serious atmosphere, it’s like, “Um~ I’m Fujigaya Taisuke. My nickname is...Taipi” (laughs).

Nikaido: What, for me, it’s “My nickname is Nika-chan” (laughs). It was very embarrassing!

Tamamori: I also said, “I’m Tama-chan”. To say “chan” yourself is embarrassing (laughs).

Senga: I’m “Gacchan”.

Fujigaya: Not to mention, that’s not very well spread (laughs).

Yokoo: Normally, isn’t it “Sen-chan”? Who calls you that?

Senga: Let’s see~ ......Kansai’s Senzaki?

Tamamori: Eh, only limited to him!?

Senga: Also......Miyata. Also, sometimes KitaMitsu.

We couldn’t take the next step... That kind of state continued

Yokoo: There’s a punchline to that nickname interview though. When we returned to our changing room after that, we were asked by our manager with a straight face, “The nicknames just now, are they written in hiragana, katakana, or roman letters?” (laughs).

Fujigaya: Since I’ve only been called that, I don’t know how you’d write it. When I answered, “...it’s probably hiragana,” he continued to ask me further, saying, “Only ‘Tai’ is in hiragana? What about the ‘pi’ afterwards?” (laughs). Ah, for all the fans, I don’t mind if you write it the way that feels right to you (laughs).

Kitayama: I’m going to go back to what we said earlier, but even when I felt, “Mh? (The flow of things towards debut) Isn’t this going well?”, we couldn’t take the next step...that kind of state continued, yea?

Tamamori: Around the time we had our songs released as ringtones and released our photobook, I thought, “Oh, maybe we can do this!”, but after that, the days went back to normal.

Fujigaya: Right, right. We’d take a hop and a step...it’s like we’re not to the point of jumping. Hop and a step, hop and a step...like that (laughs).

Miyata: Actually, just about two months ago, Senga, Nika, and I had a talk, asking, “What are you going to do in the future?”

Nikaido: We did, we did. We’re surprisingly dependable (laughs).

Kitayama: It’s true that we were cautious. Like...our debut was announced, but we’re not going to have peace of mind until we have actually debuted (laughs).

Yokoo: After hopping and stepping, we can finally make a jump though. This is all thanks to the people who have been supporting us.

Fujigaya: That really is true. From hereon forever, please support Kis-My-Ft2!

I still see it in my dreams even now ...Nikaido Takashi

I had flashbacks of various memories to date ...Fujigaya Taisuke

Yes, even KisuMai had trouble believing how old Yasui is. XD And the ear monitors story, lolll.

It was a nice interview to translate~ ...if only it didn't have such a dark coloured background! Trying to read the text wasn't doing my eyes any good.

2 out of 5 articles down! Now, when will I get started working on the third one...

Hope people enjoyed this!
