Well, I am now an employee of JC Penny, and it is interesting. I have been working for a week, and apparently have been doing such a good job that they now abandon me (I am supposed to have a buddy for the 1st 3 weeks) and let me figure things out on my own in whatever department they send me to. I am supposed to be in misses, but they exiled me to underwear yesterday, and I was very lost and disoriented (and lonely!). The most amusing thing I have discovered is that if a supervisor catches you doing your job, up to JC Penny standards, they reward you with little $5 gift certificates. I have aquired 2 so far, one for chatting nicely with a customer and one for actually getting someone to apply for a JC Penny card (do you know that you could save 10% on your purchase by opening a JC Penny credit account?). Odd, I thought that was what they were paying me to do, but I will take the extra rewards... The down side is that I see all of the clothes, and want to get some of them. Now, given my severe adversion to polyester, this is slightly easier, but they do have some lovely sweater/long sleeve shirt combos that are silk/cotton that I am lusting after. If I keep getting rewards it will become almost free (with my nice employee discount) and then I can justify getting it. Wish me luck!
