A cigarette burning
Upon the heated pavement
Like the same side
Of two separate magnets
They are too alike
To affect one another
They only resist
Naturally bound
As Not to inflict damage to the pavement
The cigarette can only burn atop
The already hot cement
The smoke rises
And the cigarette inevitably burns out
Blows away...
The pavement remains seemingly untouched
The cigarette, a victim of its own nature.
