Tire

First, quick updates:  Got married (yay!!!), bought house (yay!!), did tons of work on house (whew!), moved into house (yay!), slept lots this weekend (zzzz).

Now, the real reason for a post!  My state vehicle is missing a tire.  As in the tire was STOLEN.  My car is up on a cement block in the parking lot because some asshole stole one tire.

The police have been called.  But they won't be coming.  Crimes without a suspect don't warrant a policeman making a visit to the scene of the crime.   No evidence is apparently needed because the law enforcers aren't going to waste effort pursuing such a small affair.  Lesson 1 of the shitty Monday: Petty crimes pay because no one will expend much effort in pursuing petty criminals.

Motor Fleet has been called.  After the police are done with the car, I need to coordinate it getting fixed.  Motor fleet recognizes my office address.  "Haven't you had a break in before?"  No, but a month ago, I handled the criminal report for another damaged state vehicle.  Broken windshield and knocked off passenger side mirror.  Earlier this year, we had the stolen state car that was in a high speed chase in downtown Winston.   Yeah, Motor Fleet, you might have heard of this address before.   That's just the cars.  The other 2 break-ins this year were into the building and just involved the stealing of computer equipment.   Why is this happening to the Winston-Salem Regional Office of DHHS?  Well, because it is in the highest crime area in all of Winston-Salem.  Lesson 2 of the shitty Monday:  The government wastes your money on many things, but not on the safety and security of its employees or its equipment.  Instead, they pay over and over again to have it replaced or repaired.

That is all for now!  But I am sure this day has more to teach.
