My sister-in-law called me last night sounding really upset. I was confused, as I am not usually the person people go to for comfort. I am the least comforting person ever, probably. I awkwardly asked her what was wrong and she said, "Well, I wanted to surprise you on Monday. We were going to act like we forgot it was your birthday" -- I frowned at this. How mean. -- "and then pop out with Social Distortion tickets for that night." -- HOLY SHIT. -- "But I went get them earlier, and they were sold out."
I am deeply moved even if it didn't come to pass.
They said that I could just pick something else out for us to do. They suggested Rocky Horror Picture Show and I hesitantly agreed. I hate RHPS and all that it entails. They always point the spotlight at me and, despite the fact that I've seen it four million times, I still panic.
I'm going to tell them, though, that I'd rather go to the Aquarium.
-- And have I mentioned how disappointing Ghost Hunters: International is? Jay and Grant aren't even there, it's just Donna being scared of everything and that one Irish dude from the "faerie" episode.
Paranormal State is surprisingly the only thing keeping me sated. They have Native American shape-shifter coyote screaming. That the audience can actually HEAR. That's more than GH ever gave us.
