Ramen Stand

I am in a fiction course this quarter so we write short stories thought it might  be fun to put some online. =)

Ramen Stand

It is raining outside. I hear the pitter on the roof and can see the glass frost up. It must be freezing outside. Guess I won’t be having any more customers for today. I should close up. Cause really who comes to a ramen store in the rain? Sigh, this store really needs to make more money. It has been in the red for the past two months. Maybe I should copy the other stores and put posters of Arashi and say lies like they came here for dinner or something.
Sigh, everyone knows those are lies.

Ding Dong..

Wait! Didn’t I already put up the close sign? Why are people coming in? Ah, damn I was too lost in thought to actually go switch the sign over to close. But seriously who comes to a ramen store in the pouring rain?

Oh, a foreigner.  These white people really have no sense. Seriously going out in the rain. But she does seem cold and wet, and truly I didn’t switch the sign yet so no real reason to kick her out. Also why should I reject money coming in. But damn now I have to reheat the stock soup.

“Konichiwa, Sarah Miller desu.”

Sigh, I love how these foreigners assume no one in China Town can speak English. And seriously that was Japanese not even Chinese. But really who in America really doesn’t even know how to understand “Hi, my name is Sarah Miller” especially if they work in the food industry. Whatever guess I can speak in Engrish and mess up her order and she won’t get mad.

“Konichiwa, order what?”

Ah, she seems happy, most likely because I fit her idea of someone who doesn’t speak proper English. Well it doesn’t matter. No one really expects much from immigrants.

Ding Dong..

What another person? Oh, its Jim.

“Hey, how was the soccer game? Why are you coming here in the rain?”

“Tiring and we lost and stupid rain made me slip and fall a lot so I looked stupid playing. Basically just bad.”

“Well, do not stress I got the right kind of ramen to make it seem like a distant past.”

“That’s exactly why I came here.”

Oh, yah I was supposed to get the girl’s order. Shit, now she is looking at me with a funny look; completely confused.  Well time for her to realize we can speak English too. But shoot now I can’t mess up her order for fun anymore. Whatever, there will always be another night with another foreigner to mess up on.

Sigh, it is still raining outside.

a/n well would appreciate if people tell me feedback. i know its not good but i am really bad at getting ideas. and yah i am just experimenting. sorry if this is bad enough to cause anyone bodily harm.

also never thought i would be cool enough to write "a/n" =)
