About a month ago Aubrie started using the phrase UH-OH very well. At first it was all cute and she would drop her sippy cup and then say it. We would smile and repeat it with her and give her plenty of positive reinforcement. Then she stepped it up a notch, she would not just drop her sippy cup but spike it and then look all innocent and say uh-oh as if she couldn't believe what had just happened. Luckily the thrill of doing that has worn off some. I have a question because of this though. Would uh-oh be considered her first word or is uh-oh more of just a noise we make and not what people would consider a first word? I have sworn at different times that she has said diaper, duck, and up. But then I never heard her say them again so I am chalking those up to her just getting lucky with sounds she was making. She started saying ball this past weekend. She says it correctly and knows what it means so I know she has that word down. So is ball her first word or is uh-oh her first word? I need a first word expert here, this is important stuff, it has to go in her baby book. I don't want to be the Mom who gets the first word wrong. HELP!!!!!!!
