[From where he stood, Onix seemed to be nothing more than a quickly built wall... though why anyone would bother building one like it was beyond him. Yet, he was sure he saw it breathing.]
[On top of the Onix, Squalo stirred, stretching lazily. This, in turn, made the Onix raise his head and look at his trainer, tilting his head questioningly, before lying right back down.]
[Action] fhjdsfsa I lost this one... fauxearlMarch 31 2011, 02:33:18 UTC
[The wall moved and it had a head. If this wasn't the most amazing thing he'd seen -- okay, it was just a wall. snake. ...thing. but the point was in England there were no moving walls.
But there were often people on walls.] Hello up there!
[Action] it was really chaotic for a while there! xDfauxearlMarch 31 2011, 21:48:18 UTC
[He wasn't sure what 'voi' meant but he could go along with it. He hurries over to Squalo, letting the rules of nobility slip his mind. It wasn't as if Squalo knew, so there wasn't much point in keeping up the facade.]
Hadn't expected to see your face for a while. Thought you'd left this blasted city by now. [He's so happy to have Squalo here and not, say, elsewhere.]
[Action] Yeeeep. So much time spent in lj-inbox hell, constantly refreshing... ._.sharkfoodboundMarch 31 2011, 21:51:39 UTC
I'm planning to, once I get the better of the stupid gym leader. And how come you're still here?
[Alois, you really need to stop being so excited to see him. He feels a growing urge to ruffle your hair, and you're not even that much younger than him.]
[Action] x__x;; never again...fauxearlApril 1 2011, 01:39:50 UTC
[He'll never stop. Submit to the urges. Alois smiles and takes Squalo's hand in both of his. He swings it lightly between them.]
I want to see that! [He means it; he'd love to see a battle up-close rather than through the gear.] I've been thinking of fighting that gym leader as well. The others make it seem like such fun.
[dfcgvbhhuwat. WHAT. Well. Assuming he's grabbed the right hand, Squalo will just use the prosthetic left to pat him on the head. ...carefully. Dammit, kid, you're the same age as me.]
You can come watch me fight if you want. Should be about another week until my team's strong enough to take him.
[Age was just a number and as far as he was concerned, he was forever a child. Though Squalo's patting was awkward. He smirked as he looked up at his new friend and gave his hand a squeeze.]
Really? It would be better than watching it through the machine, like all those other fights I've seen! What do you have? [He turns his attention to Squalo's waist, looking for the tell-tale pokéball belt - or a sword.]
[He raised his eyebrows as he noticed Alois mustering him - he wasn't really looking for a sword at his belt, was he? Mad him smirk.]
Well there's that one over there, Litico, [he gestured over his shoulder at the Onix, who raised his head to look at the pair again,] But he's the newest and still one of the weakest too. I got him as a present, and I figure I'll mostly use him for travelling.
[And then he took a step back to free all the others from their pocket prisons: Ancona, the Combusken who made herself known with a rather loud cry, Taglio, the Skarmory, who simply stood a bit further away, tilting his head curiously at Alois but showing no sign of either attack or retreat, Sphyrna, the Gible, Who peered up at the other boy with a mix of curiosity and caution, and last but not least, Anansi, the Spinarak, who upon being set free promptly climbed up Squalo's arm to his usual perch on his shoulder.]
[Each pokémon comes as a wonderful surprise, from their sizes to their otherworldly appearances. He's eager to greet each one of them, to touch and feel how odd they must be. A bird without feathers! A tiny dragon! A giant chicken!
Yet what really grabbed his attention was the spider. He hadn't seen another spider since his last talk with Sebastian, and since he rarely traveled at night, nocturnal pokémon were an oddity to him. Alois gasps excitedly as he stares at the Spinarak. He reaches out to touch it, but stops himself halfway.]
It's so big! Monstrous, even! ...But it's colors are beautiful. Is it poisonous?
[Alois' childish curiosity was generally well recieved amont the pokémon, as Squalo had purposefully left the one with the biggest attitude problems inside its ball. Anansi the Spinarak was rather happy being the center of attention, not really sure what was being said about him. Monstrous? Didn't that mean big? Wasn't he the smallest in the team? Squalo extended a hand toward Alois, and Anansi happily crawled down his arm, smiling, and not in the least bit menacing.]
Poisonous? Mostly to other pokémon, but probably not for us. I wouldn't know, because he's never harmed me.
[The spider pokémon curiously reached for Alois' hand with his first pair of legs.]
You can hold him if you want, he's the tames one I have.
[He would have gladly showered each of them with attention, but Anansi had it all. It was so different from the ones he was used to.]
Never, you say... He's amazing!
[Alois watched the pokémon carefully, holding his breath as it reached out to touch him. It was if it had accepted him, he thought. He leaned in closer to the little spider and touched one of its legs gently.]
I can? [He wasn't normally so gentle with others, save a special few, but the spider was a different creature entirely. He cradled it in his hands.] ...What others do you have? Are they wild?
[Anansi rather liked being held like this. He didn't move away, making himself comfortable in Alois' hands.]
I wouldn't say wild. You can see most of them here, actually. There's only one more, my starter, but he's pretty boring at this point. Sphyrna there, for instance, [He motioned towards the Gible, who perked right up] has a jealous streak a mile wide, but she means well. Taglio, on the other hand, [he indicated the Skarmory,] is so calm and docile you could let kids play on him if it weren't for the sharp blades.
[Somewhere behind him he could hear Ancona in a heated and loud, on her part, debate with Litico, who stoically suffered through whatever tirade pokémon could even get into. His eyes went back to the Spinarak instead.]
Oh and don't be surprised if that one starts crawling all over you.
[Anansi was endearing, in that special way that bugs were. He traced all the little details of its body, noting the small stinger (poisonous, most likely), the stripes (a warning to others, maybe), and his size. Anansi seemed delicate, despite his protection. Alois smiled at the spider, directing most of his conversation to it rather than Squalo. He looked up only once in a while, to see the other pokémon he spoke of.]
[The word 'starter' sticks out like a sore thumb.] ...That would be the first one you found? Mine was a lady -- ledyba. I've others as well. [He'd move to show him, but his hands are full of awesome little spider, so he goes on describing them.] Ladybird may seem docile, but she's quite outspoken when she needs to be and an excellent fighter. My beedrill hasn't a name yet, but he's also formidable. And I've a small bear, as you know, but I don't use him for battling.
[The pokémon's argument finally draw his attention away from Anansi. He watches them with undisguised interest.] Taglio's Spanish, isn't it? --Crawling?
( ... )
[Sigh. Oh yes, how often people mix those languages up.]
No, it's Italian. And my first one was a Larvitar, who did little more than stuffing his face with dirt and didn't listen to me outside of battles. He evolved, so he's just two red eyes glaring at the world out of a rock hard cocoon right about now, until he evolves again.
[Squalo looked over his shoulder at the arguement that had apparently drawn the boy's attention. Ancona tended to raise her voice, much like her trainer, he noted wrily, but the Onix seemed mostly uninterested in whatever point she was trying to make. And as Alois' fingers stopped moving over the little spider pokémon, Anansi crawled up the boy's arm to sit on his shoulder. He wanted to see what they were looking at too, after all.]
