[Anansi was endearing, in that special way that bugs were. He traced all the little details of its body, noting the small stinger (poisonous, most likely), the stripes (a warning to others, maybe), and his size. Anansi seemed delicate, despite his protection. Alois smiled at the spider, directing most of his conversation to it rather than Squalo. He looked up only once in a while, to see the other pokémon he spoke of.]
[The word 'starter' sticks out like a sore thumb.] ...That would be the first one you found? Mine was a lady -- ledyba. I've others as well. [He'd move to show him, but his hands are full of awesome little spider, so he goes on describing them.] Ladybird may seem docile, but she's quite outspoken when she needs to be and an excellent fighter. My beedrill hasn't a name yet, but he's also formidable. And I've a small bear, as you know, but I don't use him for battling.
[The pokémon's argument finally draw his attention away from Anansi. He watches them with undisguised interest.] Taglio's Spanish, isn't it? --Crawling? I wouldn't mind that at all.
[Sigh. Oh yes, how often people mix those languages up.]
No, it's Italian. And my first one was a Larvitar, who did little more than stuffing his face with dirt and didn't listen to me outside of battles. He evolved, so he's just two red eyes glaring at the world out of a rock hard cocoon right about now, until he evolves again.
[Squalo looked over his shoulder at the arguement that had apparently drawn the boy's attention. Ancona tended to raise her voice, much like her trainer, he noted wrily, but the Onix seemed mostly uninterested in whatever point she was trying to make. And as Alois' fingers stopped moving over the little spider pokémon, Anansi crawled up the boy's arm to sit on his shoulder. He wanted to see what they were looking at too, after all.]
[They had a tendency to sound similar, especially to one unexposed to either language.]
Oh, the other Catholic language. [And that's fairly uninteresting to him. He's not so rude to say it to Squalo's face nor does he want to. He quite likes his new friend and his spider. Besides, there were a thousand other interesting things to discuss! Larvitar, for instance.] ...Is it another bug?
[He laughs at the pokémon arguing. He has no clue what they're arguing about but it was funny to him. Anansi, however, surprises him with its sudden movement. It doesn't stop his complete fascination with it.]
[Languages, psh, who really cared about them? They were all pointless here, where everyone somehow spoke the same one. Hearing Alois laugh made Squalo chuckle as well.]
Never gets less entertaining.
Larvitar? ...sort of. But it's Rock and Ground type, so it's much sturdier than most bugs are. I'm not sure what it evolves into later on, but I'm convicned it must be pretty strong for how long this is taking.
[Anansi curiously poked his forelegs at the boy's hair. So different in colour and texture! He nuzzled it a bit, considering to climb up on his head, but for now just fascinated with how fluffy and different it was.]
[Action] Anansi why so cuuuuuutefauxearlApril 15 2011, 21:46:14 UTC
[Language was pointless! Laughing was infectious and understood on any part of the planet!]
Oh? Perhaps it'll evolve into something terrifying. [That would be exciting! Perhaps he should acquire a Larvitar as well.]
[He doesn't notice it at first but soon he's returned his attention back to Anansi. He was beginning to think bugs just liked his hair. Both of his had already had their fun sitting on his head and making it their perch. Nothing he did stopped them so he let them have their way. At least it was lighter than Ledyba's 23 pound self...] ...Now what are you doing...?

[Squalo's grin widened at the suggestion. Terrifying would be nice, yep.]
Heh. Wait for it...
[Well, he already pretty much knew what was coming, but it was amusing watching it happen to someone else for a change. Anansi climbed onto his head in earnest after a few more moments, producing a high pitched but content sound once he'd reached his perch.]
[Action] I DON'T EVEN LIKE BUGS WHYYYY.fauxearlApril 15 2011, 23:25:14 UTC
[Terrifying and huge enough to level whole cities. The ideal pokémon!]
Wait for -- [Oh what was that sound. He winces, trying to get away from the screeching spider. He hadn't know spiders could make a sound, much less one loud enough to damage ear drums. He brings one hand up, as if to shove off the spider, but stops himself. ...It hadn't really done anything and it stopped now. ...And it was just sitting on his head like his ladybird, what is this]

[Ahah. Squalo's got jokes now? ...Alois frowns, but it eventually turns upside down. He might have been pranked, but at least it was funny.]
The very fact that it does such a thing when it's comfortable is odd enough.
Really? [...No, really? It likes him? Jooooooooooy~ ...So long as it didn't try to damage his hearing anymore, he thinks he'd enjoy such an interesting pokémon. The nuzzling, though cute, was edging towards the weird side. He'd been cuddled before but his hair? Not so much.]

He only does that when he's comfortable, I think. ...or at least he normally only does that when he's perched on me.
[He shrugged. The Spinarak cheerily uttered his species name atop Alois' head and nuzzled into the blond hair.]
Looks like he likes you.
