The grocery store by our place just got in some duck eggs--DUCK*! I thought that was seriously excellent and now I'm munching a hard-boiled one. The yolk is higher in fat and the white higher in protein than chicken eggs, so that affects the texture....super creamy yolk, bit more rubbery white. Taste is basically egg taste. You know, that taste that tastes like egg.
They're SUPER pretty though. The shells are thick and smooth and translucent, and some of them are bluish or greenish. I'm trying to figure out a way I can incorporate some of it into jewelry. Sort of a cabochon thing maybe?
I'm going to make some
tea eggs with the rest of them.
