Although I have three siblings, it might be more appropriate for you to think of me as an only child with three siblings. Because I act like a stereotypical, spoiled, whiny only child quite often. When I was 7, my dad brought home four mini-boxes of cereal for each of the children. We drew straws to pick who got which, and someone got the Fruit Loops that I really wanted. So I cried and yelled and complained until I got it instead. I had never had fruit loops, but they looked so delicious and colourful in the commercials, so I knew they just had to be good. Well let me tell you that Fruit Loops suck.
So ever since then, I've been extremely wary about trying new foods, no matter how good they look. Especially cereal. I have had four cereals in the course of my life - shredded wheat, cheerios, kix, and rice krispies. I have been eating solely the latter for about 1.5 years now. So imagine my disappointment when I went to the market and there were no Rice Krispies. Not even the generic "Krispy Rice" ish. Cocoa Krispies, yes. But Rice Krispies, not so much. In a panic because I needed cereal, and I realised I would have to try a new one. After much thought, I decided on Frosted Mini-Wheats, because I used to like shredded wheat, but it was too plain. So I figured Frosted shredded wheats had to be pretty all right.
I got home and tried them, and boy were they good! Mmmm, good! And my stomach is still amuck, so it was a chaotic afterwards, but so worth it! That should be their new slogan: Frosted Mini-Wheats: Totally worth the diarrhea.
