God, what an awful week this has been. Just, stress out the wazoo. I wouldn't even know where to begin at this point, so I'm not going to . . . at least not tonight because I'm totally wiped out. Let's just say that (A) honor students? Sometimes they can be the nastiest and most petty people to work with, and wherever I end up working next year, I hope to never moderate the National Honor Society again. And (B), when my stress-level is at its peak, there are some people that I simply can't trust to help me out. (Grr. Argh.)
There were a few bright shining moments, however. I've learned that "Out of Joint" is getting a mention here and there, which thrills me to no end. (Thank you so much to
petzipellepingo and
hobbituk for the heads-up. You made my week. Seriously. You have no idea how something so simple lifted my spirits so much. *G*)
Finally, it's time for the
Canoe-A-Thon once again! Tomorrow, in fact. This year my usual partner decided he'd rather indulge in the Kentucky Derby than in the race's entrance fee, which is just as well because if he left me to paddle alone while he snapped photos of our fellow racers who'd crashed along the bank...one...more...time, I swear I would knock him overboard. This year I'm racing with my father, and I really have a feeling we have a chance at placing. (Though anything can happen, really. Those who have been hanging around my LJ for a while know that the annual canoe race can result in its fair share of
mishaps.)
Wish me luck!
