I had gotten frustrated with Need for Speed Underground 2 for the Nintendo DS. I got to a point where no matter how well I was driving, the other cars were smoking me in the races. There was one race I had to have tried atleast 50 times and kept losing. I put the game away for a while and played some of the newer games I've gotten.
Last night, I pulled it back out to see if the new magnifying glass I got with the grip set for my DS would help any, since seeing cars coming at me would be easier. Indeed, the races were a little easier and I was able to jump ahead a couple more races. Then, when going through the performance customization options, I noticed (after owning this game for a while) that there were more than twice as many customization options than I had originally noticed. I was wondering why the fuck I wasn't getting any nitros to use in the races, and then noticed the nitro option way at the bottom. So, I boosted up all my options and then the races became much easier. They're still challenging, but actually beatable now.
So, my love for the DS version of Need for Speed Underground 2 has been renewed. With the magnifying glass making the screen 170% bigger, and my car actually able to compete against the computer cars, I'm ready to jump back into this game. The grips also help a lot since it's now easier to grasp and hold the DS; and since NFSU2 doesn't use the touch screen all that much, the extra distance between my hand and the touch screen isn't a problem. Since GoldenEye: Rogue Agent for the DS uses the touch screen for looking, the grips make it a tad difficult, but maybe it's just something that takes some getting used to.
Man, I love this system. Now I have to juggle my DS playing time between Need for Speed Underground 2, Meteos, and GoldenEye: Rogue Agent. Though World Championship Poker has been calling my name to give it another go for a while.
Just 'cause I feel like doing it ...
