Meanwhile, back at the Poon Crib

All so I can get to lab by 8.

So, I moved into the Poon house last Wednesday. Still a little weird, but Christine and I are getting used to it. It's been working well living together, and it's much better than having a dorm room for the summer.

Lab has been going really well - no 5'end yet. But, we're finding interesting things with the mutants lacking THD2 (not the mutants I worked on all year...those still dislike me). So, we're going to be looking into that, and I'm trying to get a good expression profile gel. This is going to be interesting.

But besides work, it's been fun. Matt and I get along very well in the lab, and we have a good time. We've gotten in the habit of babbling at each other about various problems that come up with our research. Benson and Nick from the Tang lab visit often, which has also been nice. Although, it was very odd that when I went in last night (I was just really curious how my gel turned out!), Benson was there and then Nick showed up later. All because we wanted to see results...we're all such dorks.

But, life hasn't been all about lab - I promise...only Monday-Friday and a little bit on Saturday and Sunday. Paige came to visit on Saturday night, and we went to Little Tokyo on Sunday. Much fun (Paige drew an awesome picture of the bear as a little boy...she's still working on the little girl version). Bought so much stuff...I got an Utena movie poster for $10 that appears to have been signed by Ikuhara! I almost want to get it framed, but, at the same time, there are probably others. So, not sure if that's really worth it. And then, the pretty poster with Utena in between Touga and Saionji was signed by the American voice actor for Touga, and it was $25. *grumble* It was so sad...without the signature, I would have bought it immediately.

And yesterday, I discovered that Ouran High School Host Club had been turned into an anime! ^_^ I found fansubbed versions on youtube - haven't had time to watch them yet, but I will! From what I can tell, the artwork is pretty similar to the manga, and the series follows the manga fairly closely. I really wants it, but I promised that I wouldn't buy any more manga/entertainment until my next paycheck. It feels so far away...I think I get paid next week.

Anywho, back to getting ready for lab. Much to do for this expression profile gel!
