My week at home

So, the school year's over. Final papers and reports are done. The class of 2006 has graduated. Now, I'm a senior...somehow, that doesn't seem right.

My week off before I head back to Claremont (yay, I can live in my lab again!) has been busy. After checking out of my dorm room, Dad had me drive the seven hour trip home - quite the adventure. We'll see how the other direction works when I'm by myself. Been doing lots of driving, including through SF up and down those hills today (the streets are safe now). We got me one of those phone-thingies-that-I-don't-really-want. I only have it for three months, so no cellular leash during the school year. But, I will be mildly trackable while working this summer for those who need to find me. And, I now have my own rice cooker - it's shiny and makes yummy rice.

Ah, and some interesting news about my housing situation. Apparently, one my professors has offered to allow a labmate and me use his house for the summer while he is gone for two months. No, he won't be there - that would have been really weird. Cheaper than the dorm (I better get paid back), full size kitchen, large TV, more space, within walking distance of JSD. Though, no phone (hence the foreign communication device now sitting in my pocket), but it's a sweet deal. So, poor Paige must tolerate me for an additional two days...though upon hearing this news, she seemed rather undistressed about it. I suppose she will find the extra two days amusing.

Gah, and only two more days before I have to drive back to Claremont! So many things to do still...like laundry and packing (right after I spent time packing up to move out of Claremont).
