18.25 Miles
1:22:22 Pedaling Time
Avg Speed 13.3 mph
Out to the end of the Emeryville Marina and back.
A lot slower than I did it with Emrys!! But a pretty mellow ride. No real hills to speak of. I pushed for a while and then relaxed.
I was very good about preparing today. Hydrated and ate well at work. My goal was to spend an hour on the bike without a rest break and I made it, so I'm feeling pretty positive!!
I have a week and a half to go until the Marin Century. I'm not well prepared, but I'm prepared. I haven't ridden the long rides my body might need, but I'm coming off of some good endurance training for my runs and I have strong mental preparation from my previous experiences. Little tropes like this.
I think it is going to take me 8 hours of pedaling to complete the Century. That is 1.5 hours longer than my fastest marathon, but a lot of that will be down hill, so it doesn't really count and I get to take rest breaks, which refill the tanks, but don't count against time on the bike. See, it's already sounding easy!!!
...and the men in white coats are coming for me!!!
