Well, Ya'll I'm in Mississippi, and left rather abruptly. So sorry if I didn't tell you good-bye. I'm living in a house with like twenty other people in a smallish town two miles from where the eye of the hurricane passed. It's called Bay Saint Louis and it must have been adorable before the disaster. Now, as I walk along the beach I can see the bare foundations where two hundred year old homes used to be. . . baby dolls, furniture, t.v.s lie strewn along the shore. A pink trycicle hangs perilously from a limb thirty feet up. A cluster of tents is all the home that family now has. How do you start over?
The people I'm staying with are awesome. It's good getting to know people from all over the country. My mind's pretty occupied with figureing out what I'm goint to do this next year. I might go back to India, or I might go to school. . . both involve a lot of changes and work and some loose ends. . .
What am I doing here? Umm, working really hard. We gut out houses that are full of mold so people can rebuild. We cut up fallen over trees. We keep up a big suppleis tent. We generally try to be useful. It's a great feeling knowing that what you're doing makes a difference in people's lives.
That's all for now. Love you guys!
