Some stuff:
1) Sweden has genderneutral marriage law as of 1st of May. Awsome!!!
2) I've seen the Watchmen movie. Overall it was one of the best adaptions of a source material for the silver screen that I've seen. (Much closer to its source than V for Vendetta by a long shot.)
3) I don't have much else to say. Except I really feel like getting some writing done. I haven't actually written any kind of fiction, fan or original, in a long time now. Bleh, I could use a writing meme just to get some exercise:
Give me a character/pairing/fandom and then pick a random trope of
tvtropes, that is to say any of these nifty articles that remind us struggling creators that "it's been done". :P
That said, one thing tv-tropes have got me thinking on is that: I totally don't mind that some of my ideas aren't as original as I would have liked to be. Mostly because a) some things are just classics, and therefor isn't surprising if they're though of independently by different people, and b) there's always a new way of doing things. Having been involved in the HP fandom, and come to see a lot of the discussions I've been involved in there as tools to help myself avoid certain literary traps, tv-tropes is to me yet another tool. It's also nice to see that a lot of things I've already thought about when it comes to certain tropes, whether I use them myself or not, isn't just me overthinking things. (Well, at least not just me.)
Oh, and btw, should warn you before you click above link, tv-tropes can end up extremely time consuming.
