So I told you all about using the Rainbow Loom to help with some problems, I've also figured out it can help with panic attacks...assuming one happens where I can conceivably use it. Which isn't many places unless I want to carry a twelve inch (at least) loom with me everywhere. Which is why I should've been kept away from the computer Monday ( Read more... )

Yes they are. Everything was marked down a lot, so I paid a lot less than I could've...just I'm supposed to be buying gifts not gifts for me.

I think the money was all well spent! You won't be wasting the rubber bands, you found your mom a robe, and you'll wear the boots. Those are mega wins in my book. :)

Bella is adorable.

It was. I'll use all of it, definitely. And if by some chance I didn't use all the bands the girls my sister babysits have a rainbow loom as well and they're two of four kids all under eight...there isn't much extra money in their house for stuff like that.

I prefer boots to any other kind of shoe. They aren't all great for my back but I've mostly decided I have so much nerve pain I can barely walk most days, some it takes me an hour to be able to get out of bed and down the steps, so if I'm in this much pain wearing tennis shoes, then fuck it, I might as well wear pretty shoes.

She is adorable, as long as I pay attention because she's been biting lately. My mom suggested it's becsuse I keep pulling her house off her while she's sleepinf but she's supposed to be handled everyday so she's comfortable outside her cage and stays friendly so she's going to get woke up occasionally. Oddly, she is not even a little afraid of Delilah or Casey. They prefer to avoid her though.

I can relate. I went to Barnes & Noble with my friend Beverly yesterday. I only intended to get Ann Rule's new book that came out last week but ended up spending $72.00. Beverly was complaining about hating computers (she has one but really doesn't know how to use it and neither her daughter nor I have had any success in teaching her) so I ended up buying her PCs For Dummies and The Internet For Dummies. I also bought myself a book about the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Smoky Mountains (daydreaming a vacation since I didn't get one this year).

Yeah, I'm not even allowed in Bookstores anymore. I once applied for a job at a B. Daltons (omg am I old) but then quickly realized it would be pointless if I stand in a store of books for eight hours a day I will be just as broke as being unemployed...and may possibly need a house just for books.

Ooh let me know if PC for Dummies works for her. I love my mother and I mostly think this Hospice job is perfect for her becsuse it's agsin working with "the forgotten" population but it requires a lot of computer use since that's obviously the easiest way to keep records that can be easily shared with other staff when necessary. However, just yesterday I heard the words "I hit enter and everything just disappeared" at least five times. ive tried to teach her to use a computer before but never got her past learning her to go to jigsaw or crossword puzzle pages. One of us may not survive this learning curve.

I'll let you know how things go. Her daughter and I have given up trying to teach her as she tends to blame all problems on the computer or us. What prompted all this was she wanted to get a book at B&N yesterday. She looked at the website and they said they have it. But she didn't specify the Wilmington store which didn't actually have it and rather than accepting the blame for not being specific, she blamed the computer and went on a bit of a tirade about how computers are 'evil' etc... And she really needs to learn how to use one as she desperately wants to leave McDonalds (it has apparently really gotten horribly bad since I quit and they switched managers) but pretty much everywhere now does online applications and she can't seem to figure out how to do those. And her daughter and I can't always do them for her. Plus she somehow has no idea how to check her e-mail. Funny thing is, I'm almost entirely self-taught on the computer. I have asked for help from online friends before, but I never had a 'teacher' nor did I ever have a ( ... )

Are you sure you aren't talking about my mother? It sounds just like her except for the McDonald's part.

Bella is such a cutie!

Glad to hear you found great deals! Also, I know what you mean about boots. I'm a bit obsessed with those myself and when a good pair goes on sale, it's easy to give into the temptation. What I'm really trying to say though is: enjoy those new shoes, sweetie!

Thanks! And glad I'm not alone. I've always preferred boots even when I was in elementary school.

That should work as per a coping mechanism; best wishes with that means of coping with your emotional crosses... I know personally that I've found a number of very good methods of coping with anxiety in my own life.
Again: best wishes, Ma'am.
