JACON! *bounces*

Nyaaa I'm all hyped up fer Jacon! I can't believe it's this weekend!

Today me and Jer and Shawnee decided to have a Bake Sale to raise some extra cash since all three of us are broke. We've done this kinda stuff before, and we always have a "theme" to each sale. Last year's was a 60s/Austin Powers theme, and Josie and Krys-chan came over to help. Josie brought her lava lamp, but Lexi tripped over the cord and smashed it. >.< This time, though, it was just the three of us...we went with a Beach theme, and had cookies and cupcakes and punch.

Since I'd gotten into the habit of staying up til dawn and then sleeping in until 3 pm, I knew I'd never be able to wake up early, so I decided to pull an all-nighter. At 6:30 I went and woke Jer and Shawnee up, and we got started on the food. We ran into a few dilemmas... the cupcakes were supposed to look like suns, but we didn't have any yellow food coloring for the frosting. The cookies were supposed to look like beach blankets, but turned out being these enormous lumpy ovals. We improvised... we made the cookies look like crabs, and made the cupcakes blue instead with little pictures of ocean-like stuff on em (sail boats, mermaids, etc). We shoved some goldfish crackers in some ziplock bags as well... luckily, the kool-aid punch we made had no complications. XP

We finished everything by 11:30, and set up our "stand"... complete with beach umbrella, towel, and sexy blonde sunbather (Shawnee :p). We put a sign outside our development for passing cars and started blasting Lilo & Stitch music. The sale was a pretty big success; our best yet! We sold everything! All we had left was a little punch. Our secret? We took turns going door to door and asking for "orders". We also got a few regular customers to our stand, but we made the most cash with our other method. We told everyone that we were raising money for a club fieldtrip, which is semi-true. Though the cupcakes may have had a bit of sand in them. ^.^;;

We made nearly $30, which doesn't seem like much, but we were thrilled. At about 4 pm we packed up and I went home and did a few more odd jobs for money, including pressure-washing our crusty old patio chairs. I got extremely muddy, twas fun! Then I took a shower, and my feet were killing me (we're talking "just walked around Disney all day" killing me), so I went to lay down and well... fell asleep. ^.^ But only for two hours. I had dinner, then I finally cleaned my room (GASP). It's so kleeen~! And yeah, my shelf was fixed. ^.^ So yay. *basks in th' cleanliness*

I so far have $58 saved up for Jacon, which covers a weekend admission and a lil bit of spending money. I also have a $25 check to cash from my aunt as well, and I may make a visit to the pawn shop for a bit of extra. :p

My Jacon Wishlist:

- Inuyasha movie 2 & 3 soundtracks
- The Kirara and Jaken plushies
- Naruto figures/plushies
- Any misc. manga I might find on sale

- Some doujinshi (If I manage to find any)
- Any of them nifty lil random trinkets
- Maybe (a) new wallscroll/posters?
