I feel the warmth
of the Caribbean sun
in your touch
I smell the scent
of the rain forest
in your hair
I taste the flavor
of the salty brine
in your lips
I hear the rhythm
of Salsa drums
in your heartbeat
I see beauty
of "joie de vivre"
in your eyes

And my poet’s soul
is inspired by my Island Muse,
And my poet’s heart
seeks to sing this song
at the Pillars of Heaven
