Goodbye
Dear Livejournal.
We've had some good times, some bad times. There were days where I wrote in you constantly; there were months where I ignored you completely. There were joyful events you allowed me to chronicle; there were horrible events you allowed me to vent.
Ultimately, though, it's time for our relationship to come to an end. I don't write in you anymore. I just don't. I've expanded to other social networking sites--Facebook, Twitter, Formspring, Dailybooth. All of them perform a useful and unique function in my internet experience, and for a time, so did you. But with the creation of those other networks, the need for Livejournal has decreased to the point of near nonexistance.
When I get my next laptop--a Macbook, I'll be buying it in the fall--I'll have a built-in webcam. Maybe I'll even buy a better one at some point, but with it, I'll be taking up Vlogging. How long will that last? Who knows? But I'm finally getting to the point where I'd be comfortable doing that, and I think that it allows me more possibilities than a Livejournal does.
So goodbye, Livejournal. We've had our fun, but now it's over. To the few friends I have left here--I'll try to check in periodically, but I invite you to join me elsewhere. I guarantee that we'll talk more if you do.
