Yesterday night, I was reading my Shonen Jump manga and listening to Utada Hikaru’s Deep River album with Melissa next to me in my room. Then Daddy comes over and asks us if we want to earn some money. He said, “I’ll give anyone twenty dollars to clean my Toyota Corolla. I’m planning to sell it if we can.” I was thinking, just keep looking into the manga and maybe he’ll ignore me… and, I hope Melissa or Trisha will want to freely volunteer. He tried convincing us but Trisha said, “Nothing can make that old car look nice again.” Haha, when she said that we all laughed hysterically, except Daddy. He walked out of the room while saying, “Ok, I can just do it myself and use the money on gas or something…”
Man, after that I decided to go to bed but the offer rang in my head and I did need to earn some money. It also didn’t help when Melissa started laughing and kept saying, “Heh, I hope our kids aren’t like us.” I guess I felt a little guilty too and I needed some money so I actually told him yes.
He was happy and then got into the details of the job. I had to spray and wipe the interior of the car, wash the outside of the car, then wax and buff the entire car. I started to regret doing the job already.
Luckily, I woke up early today to get ready and do the job quick! After I took a shower and watched, “Sakura,” a Japanese show I record in the mornings. Then I got to business and began cleaning the inside of the car. Then I moved onto washing it and then putting the wax on. My gosh, it was so freakin’ hard! What a work out on the arms… I was doing all this with the garage radio on so I wouldn’t get bored out of my mind. I even started thinking about the movie Karate Kid and the guy saying, “Wax on, wax off…” LOL But, I did finish the whole entire car by lunch time. Over all it took me about an hour and forty minutes. I can't wait to get my good earned twenty dollars!
