2. Popularity continued

There is a recent scene put on by the famous director Feng Xiaogang. His new film Youth is removed from the National Holiday slot. It seems the media trying to put the blame, as usual, on the Broadcast Bureau, due to sensitive topics. But the Broadcast Bureau is making itself clear this time, writing on the article to respond that they are all OK with the film, and it is not their problem that the film should be removed from the prime slot. Although there are still rumors that even with the Bureau's OK, it does not mean that the film would not have offended other departments within the states, which could potentially prohibit its showing. But from the popularity stand point, some spectators bring out that the leading actor, Huang Xuan, is not popular. Even though he is a reputable actor with good acting skills, but he is not one with bandwidths. As a result of it, the pre-sale of film is not optimal, and it consequently affects its showing rate during the National Holiday slot. The rate is so low that the producer has to remove it from the scheduled slot.

But from my point of view, I think that it is ridiculous.
The spectators are implying that only female audience is driving the box office, which is on the same side as Ms. Tang Lijun, the famous producer of Lost Love in Times.

The bad performance of the pre-sale could be the result of many factors, for example, its promotion, the reputation of the crew, the story itself, the cast, and etc. It is unfair to lay all the blame on a single actor, and it is ridiculous to talk about anything with the prerequisite of bandwidths, especially when the film is closer to the art-house type of films.
