A couple weeks ago at dinner, I made reference to geoducks and found that no one else had the slightest idea what I was talking about. "I hate talking to people," I was about to say to the other student worker.

Then the irony hit me and I stopped.

*  Also, I don't actually hate talking to people.  I just don't always do a great job interacting with boss-type people, even boss-type people that I like. 

"So apparently I'm getting a screw date* this year."

"That's fantastic! I wish we had something like that here."

A mark of what this weekend has been like:  Tonight I went for a walk in the arb as a study break.  As we passed by the Hill of Three Oaks, I wondered "What are all these people doing having a bonfire on a school night?"

Then I passed by a drunken mob on the way back into the dorm and suddenly remembered that it's a Saturday.
