Saturday
6 inches of snow.
Sunday
Leaves and branches are blown at ninety degree angles outside my window. Torrential rains all day.
Monday (Today).
Even more rain - by 9:00 AM the day already had the third-highest amount of rain in a single day in Seattle recorded history. Road outside my house is closed due to a small landslide about two houses down. I-5 (our major freeway) shut down due to flooding; apartment complexes in the next town over (approx. 10 minutes away) evacuated, also due to flooding.
Governor declares a state of emergency. Seattle Times website notes that it still has one office not shut down due to flooding, and will attempt to keep updating its website.
My parents happened to buy a generator this weekend, having been concerned about the effect of frequent power outages on my aging grandparents living downstairs.
We are rather pleased by their near-prescient timing. In the mean time, we've battened down the hatches.
Hope those of you in Portland are OK - I hear the weather's a lot worse down there. You're in my thoughts.
