the last week

Has been wet. Like fog so thick you could cut it with a knife (which makes me think of Scooby Doo cutting out the fog donut and eating it). All that wet makes me ache very badly.
But it's been a good week. There is a new project up at Beadwork at BellaOnline, a mini pirate banner for TLAP.

Tomorrow Mike and I are going to a charity auction. It's a black tie affair and I absolutely do not have the shoes for it. So I'll have to pick those up on the way. Make an appearance, do the obligatory smiles and handshakes and get back out of there. Hopefully we will also make it to a farmer's market tomorrow, buying fresh produce is way more important to me than dressing up for this other thing.
I'm also getting a bread machine, a Breadman machine with an automatic fruit and nut dispenser. I *like* baking bread the old fashioned way, it's soothing. But a few people have asked me about bread machine recipes, and I got offered this one to review. I'm really kind of excited about it now, because well.. making up new bread recipes! Mike is less excited. He's sure I'll stop baking it the old way as often if I have a machine to do it for me.
I taught some ladies how to do beadwork Tuesday, which worked out better than I expected, and made a bit of extra money which promptly got spent on a couple TV seasons of shows Mike wanted.
Mostly, it's been a lovely week. The things in it. The only problem with this week was that it was incredibly painful because of the weather. Wednesday I broke down in tears, combined pain and frustration. My family has been very wonderful and helpful through it all. I feel like I'm letting them down by not being able to do a lot when it's that bad.
It passes. Weirdly, the best distraction has been season 7 of Buffy, which Mike is also very patient about.
Sunday I made chocolate butterscotch pudding, which turned out very good. The Turnip was fascinated by the whisk for some reason, so I asked her if she wanted to whip some cream. She whipped up some cream by hand to go with it, and got ready to serve up homemade pudding with hand whipped cream in plastic bowls. I said "No, it's too good for that." so we had it in tea cups instead.
Also got some new Spoonflower swatches!
