Car trouble and theater geeking

Ugh. So, my check engine light went on last Friday. I called up the dealer, and they basically said to check the gas cap, and then come in if it didn’t go off. So, I did that, and it hadn’t gone off. Anyway, this morning I go to put gas into my car. I start to put it in, and then the nozzle clicks off, as if the tank is already full. Ugh oh. I try a couple more times, and the same thing happens. I also notice that there is gas leaking from under my car!! Shit. Well, I only have a little gas in my car, so I decide to take it right to the dealer. Yes, I know dealers overcharge, but I would like this fixed today, and if I need a new gas tank, I figure they might actually have it in stock. So, now my car is at the lovely Nissan dealer, and I am waiting with dreaded anticipation for a call from them. :-(

In better news. I made cherry ice cream using my ice cream maker last night. It came up superb! I had told some people I might bring it to the party tonight, but I don’t know if I can part with it’s creamy goodness, especially since it took a lot of work to make.

I also went to see the Bakerloo Theater Project’s Macbeth last night. It was just as great the second time. I also won the raffle for a free pottery lesson! Score! After the show, they had a discussion time with the actors. It was really nice, especially to hear about the director’s vision, and why he chose to make the three witches spilt the Lady Macbeth role. Even the women admitted they hated the idea to begin with, but they loved getting to play both roles. I also talked a little more to the director and to Macbeth afterwards. They were so cool, and we talked about how some of my favorite parts of the show were happy accidents (the three prophecies and the cauldron in that scene). Seriously, if you are in Troy, you should consider going to see this show. The last few performances are the 21st at 2, and the 27th at 8. They are also doing Moliere’s comedy The Imaginary Invalid, which I imagine with also be great. Those dates are the 20,21,22,26,and 28th at 8, and the 28th at 2. They are also doing a free preview performance today at 1:00. They basically want a few people in the audience so that they can work on their timing with the laughter. The show is just 90 minutes, so it wouldn’t take up too much time to go see it. I was considering taking half a day just to go be there, but I think the car situation is going to prevent that.

For those near NYC or going to NYC, the group does this Literary Pub Crawl in Greenwich Village on Saturdays at 2:00. It is only $15, and sounds really cool. They take you to different pubs, talk about the writers that have hung out there, and they act out some scenes by those writers. I definitely want to check this out next time I’m in the city.

This weekend is busy. There are a lot of things conflicting. An all-weekend party, a Bachelorette party followed by drinking with the boys afterwards, picking up a package at the P.O., a meeting at 2:00 on Saturday, another big party and a wedding! Plus, if I can somehow swing going to the Imaginary Invalid, I want to do that. Doesn’t look very likely though. :-/

Ooh, I just got a call about my car, and it might be ready by noon - maybe I will take the afternoon off!
