New Year’s Eve was spent at
spiffstress’s house. It was a small gathering, but a good way to spend New Year’s. Yummy food and good company.
I had dinner with
cielosangre and his fiancee on Friday night, and after that we played a really long, horrible game of darts. It was good to catch up with both of them. They are really cute together.
I’m in the process of framing some small posters I bought in Sweden. They are old paintings of street scenes. I found some awesome frames that fit them in an antique shop on River St, and I’m going to take them to the frame shop tonight so that they can cut some glass and finish them off.
I got a lot of little things done in my house this weekend. Stuff like hanging artwork and installing hooks. Things I have been putting off for a while, so it feels good to have them off my chest. I spent basically the rest of the weekend knitting, finishing my Project Runway Season 1 DVDs and reading The Time Traveler’s Wife. That book has sucked me in. I read it from 2:00 to 10:00 yesterday, just stopping for dinner. I should finish it tonight.
Oh, I also went to
tenner and
rockingrobin's house on Saturday night for their game convention. I taught them how to play "John and Amy", and we played Scattergories. They people that played picked up the potential strategy behind "John and Amy" quicker than I had seen anyone else ever do that. It was a fun night!
I hosted a viewing night for Never Been Thawed. It’s as awesome as I remember it being. If people want to borrow it, let me know.
VH1 is having the marathon to beat all other ANTM marathons. They are playing every show from Cycle 1 to Cycle 7 all day long, every day until January 5th! Oh. My. God.
gutter_grrl gave me the idea for a “list of intentions”, rather than resolutions. I like this idea, and I already have several things planned for this year:
- Pay someone to install insulation in my attic
- Pay someone to remove limbs from my tree
- Teach more people Pysanky; Attempt to sell some eggs at the new art shop in Troy
- Play in the National Volleyball Tournament in Austin, TX
- Play in at least one Capitol Region Grass Doubles tournament this summer
- Finish my MS in Management degree
- File my taxes before March
- Pay off my credit card debt and my car loan
- Go to my little sister’s college graduation
- Finish at least 10 books
- Finish at least 5 knitting projects
- Go camping
- Visit as many of these places as possible: Las Vegas (I bought my ticket this past weekend!), Austin, Los Angeles, Chicago, Ireland, Philadelphia
- File at least 3 patent applications for work
