Cinderellas Three Wishes for Cinderella
Seeing "The Glass Slipper" the other night made me recall a number of other movies about Cinderella that I have seen over the years and there are 3 that I really like. The first was Walt Disnney's cartoon musical with songs that I still recall and which I saw for the first time when I was very young. The next was Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" starring Lesley Ann Warren which I first saw on TV when it premiered in 1965 and then saw it countless times later (there was an earlier version with Julie Andrews that I saw once a few years ago. I don't know if the second one was better but it's the one I love - maybe because I saw it on TV first and so many times afterward and the songs of it I still recall and can sing when I feel like it). My third favorite is the Czech version "Three Wishes for Cinderella". I think there are more movie versions of Cinderella than any other fairy tale as it can be almost real without anyone having to go to sleep for a long period of time.
