Melbourne Hear the Sound of Drumming...
It’s been a while since I updated here, so while my new office is quiet and I’ve got some computer time, here’s a progress report…
I started at my new job this week. Based in Ascot Vale, the extra travelling is taking its toll on me (I’m so used to just driving 5 minutes and being at work!) but the atmosphere is good and I think I’ll be happy here. It’s strange though, for all the problems with working in the soccer world, I do miss it. I miss the family atmosphere and the excitement of working in a sport that was on the way up. Still, the way I’m seeing my career at the moment, I’m just working towards the day I can get back involved… maybe at the national level? Who knows.
Hmmmmm, what else. I’ve learnt more and more in the past fortnight that nice arms are my downfall. It’s lead me to do things that I necessarily wouldn’t have done in the past and while there are no regrets, I’m probably about to lose a friendship over it. Just remember ladies, men with girlfriends are off limits.
I’ve spent a week at the beach, where, in true Melbourne style, it was cold-ish every day, which stopped me getting in the water, but left me with plenty of time to hit the pokies. Won quite a bit of money - but remember you can never really win from the pokies - lucky mum was there to drag me away… hahahhah, how tragic.
Anyway, that’s it… I’m over-excited for Victory on Sunday. Barracking for Collingwoood for almost 20 years has left me sour over grand finals, so I’m praying for a win this weekend. It’s too exciting to even think about.
