osnews.com mentions that the
Open Graphics Project getting ready for pre-ordering of the initial hardware hacker's edition of the
OGD1.
The hardware hacker's edition includes a mid-size FPGA (
Spartan-3 XC 3S4000), 256mb of ram, two dual-link DVI plugs, and a bunch of other useful stuff. It's pretty much an FPGA development board tuned towards video uses. The cost will be $1500 USD. That's steep, but worth it to me.
I'd like to get one, I wonder if my motherboard has a 64-bit PCI-X slot?
Also, I bought one of those "teach yourself electronics" kits at radio shack two days ago, and I spent some time building blinking light and chirping speaker circuits last night, that was fun!
After I've gone through the workbooks that come with this kit, I'll try Lady Ada's
Arduino Tutorial!
