The Dark Phoenix Effect

I always have a few theories popping in my head now and then, so I think I'm going to start posting them when I remember.

The Dark Phoenix Effect:
Is it just me, or is the Dark Phoenix simply Jean Gray's expression of the mother-of-all periods?

"Ouchie! I've got the crampsies!"
Edit: Is she actually drowning the rest of the Xmen in a flood of her feminine fluids? Ugh.

Guys, you know what I'm talking about here. You're sitting back, having a nice day, enjoying a nice lemonade, and decide to give your girl a call. All of a sudden, the Dark Phoenix answers the phone:

"Why didn't you call earlier? Don't you know how rude that is? I WILL DESTROY YOU AND DEVOUR YOUR SOUL. I WILL REND FLESH FROM BONE. I WILL SUCK YOUR MARROW DRY. THAT WHICH YOU LOVE WILL BE DESTROYED BY THE SCREAMS OF YOUR TORMENT. I AM DREAD, I AM BEAUTY, I AM THE PHOENIX..." or whatever your girl happens to say. Mine happens to be very eloquent.

It's not only the sheer destruction and waste she leaves behind in her path: girls crying, dogs cowering, grown men wide-eyed and stunned - regressing to some sort of fetal consciousness; it's the suddenness, the MacLaren-like acceleration from rational human being who you often think "Wow, this person is great/fun/able-to-use-her-psychic-powers-to-give-me-a-handjob" to "Mother-of-god, if I do not immediately retreat, I will be her New Orleans, and she will be my Katrina."

I'm a big fan of the Xmen. I have been since I was 10(?) and read the Uncanny Xmen, which included Cyclops, Jean Grey, the Beast, Angel, and Iceman.

although I think the first comic I read had them fighting the Blob. However, I can't help but think that on the day the Phoenix was first baptised into existence, Chris Claremont's wife was going through some of her own feminine troubles. And as she yelled at him, and threw coffee cups at him (probably through physical, rather than psychic means), and as he died a little inside, he readjusted his glasses, now dripping with coffee... much like Scott Summers aka Cyclops would have, looked over at his wife... and drew the demonic aura he saw rising within her.
