Warnings: I think this is utter failure because I haven't written YamaJima in ages. D:
Summary: They say that what you dream about is secretly what you desire.
Disclaimer: I don't own any of them. Not yet.
Notes: It's either this is a one-shot or a drabble, but it's definitely a fic. Why is it ages since I released a fic? Oh yeah, fic turned out to be a form of rebellious writing when in such a boring class. xD My brain's still in vacation mode although I'm already starting school, and why am I rambling? Anyway, I hope you'll like this!
Being late is not tolerable, especially when there's a new routine to be learned. When the practice starts very early in the morning (around 8 AM), the same people are actually expected to be the late comers. Takaki and his hair fixation excuse, Ryutaro's reason about Shintaro getting to the bathroom first and using it too long, and Hikaru's random made-up alibis about helping a pregnant lady or rescuing a drowning puppy.
If we talk about Yamada Ryosuke though, that's a whole different story. He's practically the earliest to arrive, if not Yabu. Strange enough, he's the last to arrive today...an hour late. It was rare, and Yamada had to endure the scolding of the dance instructor.
Yuto felt bad for his best friend and decided to ask what happened.
"Yama-chan, are you alright? It's not like you to be--"
"I had another weird dream, Yuto! Then again, it was also funny though!"
Yuto blinked. Yamada apologized a lot, yet he was not the slightest disappointed from the reprimanding that just happened. Yuto's expression was unreadable (yet had a hint of confusion) as Yamada laughed before even telling his story.
"Last night, I actually dreamt that you've fallen in love with me!" Yamada released another fit of laughter.
Yuto's unreadable expression was more evident now after hearing Yamada's words. He doesn't know whether to laugh or to cry. He's stuck on Yamada's statement.
"Funny, right?" Yamada asked once more.
Yuto forced a laugh (a what-it-seemed-to-be-real-enough-one) before he turned his back.
"Hilarious."
Just when he was about to return to the practice hall, Yamada called out to him.
"Yuto, do you remember what I said about my dreams?"
Yuto stopped and took a moment to make sure he'd prevent any tears from falling before he faced Yamada again. He looked at the shorter boy straight in the eyes and anticipated the latter's next words.
"Well, I told you that since I dream about the weirdest things, I don't want them to come true, right?"
Yuto was uncertain where this was going, but he slowly (yet hesitantly) nodded in response.
"You know what, I changed my mind. Sometimes, I wish some of them were true." Yamada smiled while Yuto's eyebrows furrowed.
"Eh?" Yuto muttered and blinked multiple times. He heard the words, but he doesn't know if he heard them right. Yamada laughed softly at Yuto's reaction.
"Come on, teach me what I missed."
Yamada pulled on Yuto's hand and went to the practice room. Yuto followed, secretly smiling behind.
