So, someone's been throwing up a bit around the house recently. Mostly the gross gunk that means hairballs, but while this isn't exactly ordinary behavior, throwing up hairballs isn't all that surprising either.
But this past week, it's been a lot.
ddrpolaris came over...Tuesday? Wednesday? and there were three separate spots of vomit. I've been sick and not really paying attention (which is why I'm unsure of which day it was), but there a been several more this past week. At first, I thought it was Islay, because I saw her sicking up once, but today the Captain's been making the most awful noises. Much different than his usual yowly, 'pay attention to me' noises. I'm getting concerned. Plus, today, I cleaned up two different piles of sick and some weird yellowish bile patches. With little flecks of red in them. I keep telling myself the red is the wrong color to be blood, but...I'm kinda freaking out here.
I've tried picking him up and massaging his stomach, and he yowls when I do--but then, he yowls anytime I pick him up not on his express okay.
I called the vet and have an appt for tomorrow at 9:30 for the vet's, as well as Tuft's emergency number. The tech who answered kept asking if he's been eating or drinking and I'm all, "Uhhh...Dunno?" We leave food out all the time and both of them eat at their leisure. So unless I'm watching Captain eat or drink I have no idea who is responsible for the drop in food and water levels. Ditto with litterbox time. They share, so if one isn't going, I'm not going to notice right away.
I'll be separating them tonight to get a better idea about who is responsible for what and hoping that if something is wrong with my Captain, they'll find it and fix it tomorrow.
EDIT: Now am super-worried. Waved the bag of treats at him, he didn't even move. Piled several treats on the floor with him--no interest. I couldn't even get him to eat the hairball stuff he used to knock Islay away from so he could steal it from her.
