Quick update before the drugs kick in
*jror_tholin and Katrina-who-has-no-LJ-that-I-know-of had a lovely wedding on Friday--even though it was outside, much to kadath's dismay. I met a bunch of very cool people, and got to see Flash Gordon for the first time. I'm quite upset with shogunhb for not showing it to me earlier. We could have incorporated the vows into our wedding!
Zogi, the High Priest: Do you, Ming the Merciless, Ruler of the Universe, take this Earthling Dale Arden, to be your Empress of the Hour?
The Emperor Ming: Of the hour, yes.
Zogi, the High Priest: Do you promise to use her as you will?
The Emperor Ming: Certainly!
Zogi, the High Priest: Not to blast her into space?
*Ming glares at Zogi*
Zogi, the High Priest: Uh, until such time as you grow weary of her.

You know, quish, purple_dj, it's not too late for you guys. These vows are awesome. I'm just sayin'.
*Last night was quish's bachelorette party. I had a lot of fun, which is nice, considering I was so stressed out about it beforehand. I spent the entire morning scouring the house, calling folks I hadn't heard from, and formalizing the plans. The evening started at Baba's at 5:30, moved to Allgos at 8:00, and then went back to my house afterwards.
Allgos is wonderful. Deliciously tasty drinks plus deliciously tasty desserts equals one happy shadowravyn. I'm not sure when, but I will be planning a trip to have tapas at Bocado followed by a another trip to Allgos. Yum.
shogunhb was wonderful. After spending the day moving a piano for juldea, he volunteered to go to the store for me, so I could stay and hostess. Not that I did much of that, since there were kittens about. And then he got up and made breakfast for everyone this morning, while I stayed in bed and wallowed in my illness. *Both Isley and Captain broke a pound today! She's 1lb and 3/4oz and he's 1lb and 3/8oz. I'm so pleased. Captain's first vet visit is next Tuesday. I hope by that point, he'll stop being underweight.
*In a completely surprising and unforseeable turn of events, I'm once again sick. I was fighting it off all day yesterday and today it bitchsmacked me into submission. I've spent most of the day asleep or in a drug-induced haze. Yippee. I'm drinking juice and eating Emergen-C like candy. I cannot be sick for the wedding. I have less than a week to get well. Looks like I'll be calling the doctor tomorrow. Yay for drugs!
