Silly little update ... I was reading The Wanton Wonton by furiosity earlier today during my break and found this particular series of lines amusing:
"You're obsessed with me," Draco accused, trying to disentangle himself.
"That's not what the books say." Potter licked his neck carefully.
Why is this amusing you ask? Well, it was written in April of 2005 ... before Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince came out with that beautiful line. The one that says, "Harry, however, had never been less interested in Quidditch; he was rapidly becoming obsessed with Draco Malfoy."
This, folks, is irony. A fairly well-known (amongst H/D slashers) fanfic author says the opposite of what the author then goes on to say in the next released publication.
It's just further proof to my cracktastic theory that JKR was, indeed, reading too much fanfiction while writing Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince and attempting to cater to every different type of fangirls' desire out there.
