And November is here to stay...for a little while at least
Now on with the more exciting stuff!
Monday November 5th
Was in Intro International Relations and talked a little bit about the Presidential election and it was interesting to hear the opinion of the other USian in the class. He’s from Pennsylvania and he didn’t really have an opinion on who should win considering that both candidates were similar in what they were promising…just that Romney would be quicker in certain aspects than Obama…Waiting to see what elections were going to be and looking at last minute polls and graphs. Looked at picture of the states to see what electoral votes were like from the Huffington Post.
http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/2012/results/ it was actually kind of neat to see how it changed from Monday to Tuesday when the results came about. But the link is the final results from after Tuesday :DD
Tuesday November 6th
YAY! Election Day! Made sure everyone that I knew was voting and if they didn’t want to vote for the President, they should’ve at least voted for measures/props, those sort of things. The only other class that day that even talked about the US elections was my British Civilization class but the Prof is always referring back to the US when we talk in class. I find it highly entertaining sometimes. But another student talked about the IRA which was…interesting. But entertaining to say the least. Then that afternoon/evening in the seminar class of my Intro to Civ. we partnered up with another student and shared stories about our grandmothers (mom’s side) or mothers and then we get to write a paper for comparing/contrasting. So I talked with a Chinese girl about her mother and I talked about mine because I really don’t know that much history about my grandmother…Any who, I was checking the election results to see who was winning and I was so happy to see that it looked like Obama was winning!!
Wednesday November 7
OBAMA WON!! :DD Now four more years with someone who will try their hardest (at least I hope so…better than Romney that’s for sure) to keep things moving on the right path. And won’t be going back in time with Romney’s VP >.<
Learned more stuff in Hungarian language and I feel like my brain is going to explode but at least I’m learning one of the hardest languages >.< Now if I could just remember it all and be able to talk to people with what I know…That’s the real test. And Soc Theory, get to write a paper about comparison/contrasts of Mexican death/life with Strauss’ book chapter/section of the Bororo in South America (if I remember correctly). And it’s not due until December but I want to get it done by the end of November…along with presentations and a couple other papers. NOVEMBER BE GONE! And I got some ground turkey meat and made turkey patties. So I had mashed potatoes with sautéed/grilled bell peppers and onions on top with green beans and turkey paddy. Was sooo delicious.
Thursday November 8
Went to Soc Probs in the Media and listened to a presentation on Prostitution which was interesting ‘cause of the way that it was presented. But before that we talked about media representation of the US Presidential elections and I was asked my opinion about who won. Leftovers for dinner :DD
Friday November 9
Read for Soc Theory and hopefully will finish it today as want to do research for two presentations: one in Intro International Relations and European History. Woohoo…
And again, leftovers for dinner. Tomorrow I shall be making soup again. WOO :DD
I decided that when I went out for a walk today that I would do it when the sun was setting. So I found out when the sunset (4:14pm or there about) and headed out. I started at my apartment (obviously) and meandered my way towards my University and the market next door. I decided that I wanted a sweet so I got a lemon cake something or other (didn’t take a pic. Next time!). After that, wondered over the Liberty bridge and then crossed the street and while on the Buda side, meandered my way down towards the Chain Bridge. When I got to the Chain Bridge, I stopped in the middle and just watched the city go from day to night in about an hour or so. Well I wasn’t on the bridge that long as the sun had already set but I did watch as the lights of the city turn on. Especially on the bridge. That was super cool. Then after that I wondered my way back to my apartment. I was out for about two hours. Definitely enjoyed my time and will go out and have fun playing with the settings on my camera at about the same time as I love the days turning into night. One of these days I might just get up early enough to see the sunrise…maybe.
Then came home and fixed dinner then started reading the book for my Soc theory class. Have about thirty more pages to go!
View from the Liberty Bridge which is right next to my school.

Saturday November 10th
Finally finished my Soc Theory reading. YAY! Now to work on research for two presentations. One is about Jewish Hungary 1848-1938 and the other is Conflict and Concerns (or something like that) in Croatia and Slovenia. I need to ask the Prof tomorrow what exactly he wants because it’s a large topic and I don’t feel like researching a whole bunch of useless information I’m not going to be using.
Went to the market to gather apples, potatoes, red and green bell peppers, mushrooms, carrots and rolls for dinner.
Went for another walk to the Chain Bridge but it was earlier in the afternoon as I was going to be talking to my mom later in the evening and I wanted to start making my soup. So I went out and man was it COLD. It was so foggy and it was fairly windy so it was quite chilly. But I’m glad I went out and got a few foggy pictures aha. Then came back to apartment and fixed dinner, talked with my mom while it was cooking and then talked to both parents while I was eating it.
Oh! I also bought my great niece and nephew blankets from the Disney store for Christmas, sending them to my half-sisters house and having her wrap them for us (mom, dad, bro and me). So that was an interesting side-tracking detail. Hah!
Brrrrr. Was it cold. But a view of Buda Castle.
Another view..
Sunday November 11
Didn’t really do anything today besides working on research and going for another walk this evening. Tonight was just like Friday as it was fairly clearly, during the time the sun was setting and turning into evening. I think it’s my new favorite time to go walking. Then came back, ate dinner, worked on more research and posted my update. YAY for a lazy Sunday. And another week of school starts. Woohoo...
