Well another week has gone by and it's November now! I still can't believe that October has gone by so quickly. It's crazy!!
Now onto this weeks lovely update! :D
Monday October 29th
Intro to International Relations and was pretty slow. Just getting back into the swing of Monday and Tuesday classes. But of course have Thursday and Friday off because of the two holidays. And shouldn’t have any more holidays until Christmas rolls around. So pretty much nothing until December. Just have to mainly get through November first. Woo!
Slushy snow! :DD
They were filming something outside my apartment but wasn't exactly sure what. But they had fake snow flowing. At first I thought it was real considering earlier in the morning it was actually snowing...but it didn't stick. It was just thick enough to see *points to first pic*
Tuesday October 30th
European History went on a little field trip to look at some Jewish buildings/historical stuff. And then we went to the University that the Professor is affiliated with: Andrássy Unversity Budapest. It’s a German speaking university and they were holding a conference that my Professor was going to attend. I just had fun taking pictures of the inside of it because the Universities here are like mansions/museums back in the states
Love me some chandeliers
So big!
it's like a ball room O_O But it was a lecture hall...
Plastic chairs...
It was a big room..
Stair case going down. It's like a ball in a movie or something!

Then at 1:10pm in Intro to Civilization, had a midterm which I think I did alright in. Then after that, I just meandered around waiting for my Brit Civ class to start where we learned about different sports (or the popular sports) in Britain. Was very educational because some of the sports I’ve never even heard of or if I have heard of them I wasn’t exactly sure what they were. And after that, didn’t have the seminar part of Intro to Civ ‘cause of the midterm. Went home and worked on reading for Theory and practiced a little Hungarian
haha I forgot about my first Snickers...It was so good too!
Also! after Brit Civ class saw the coolest sunset so decided to walk across the Liberty bridge to get some awesome photos!
Walking across the bridge

Wednesday October 31st
Went to Hungarian language class and got back midterm. I got a C which I’m happy about considering that’s about average of what I got in Spanish class >.< But I’m slowly improving I just can’t remember everything that I’m taught…and I don’t really have anyone to practice with and, in all honesty, I’m nervous/intimidated to say anything when I’m out and about. It’s easier for me to learn by reading/seeing or listening then trying to remembering to speak. But everyone is different I suppose. Soc Theory failed my midterm so I’m going to work on an essay to be able to make up those points and hopefully the professor will at least give me a decent enough grade considering that I’m making an effort to make up for what I lost. Also met up with my property manager to pay the rest of my monthly rental fee.
After I got back to my apartment, I made some soup from a soup mix and watched a movie. And since it was Halloween I watched a creepy ass movie. It’s called Trick ‘r Treat and I have to say that the ending was the creepiest.

And this was actually on the way back to school because I had to print some stuff out for Uni.
First bag of Popcorn in Budapest! My mom sent me three packages and I love this pop up bowl. There was a lot of popcorn though. not complaining 'cuase it was delicious!!
Thursday November 1st HOLIDAY NO SCHOOL! YAAAY! Because it’s All Saint’s Day
I stayed up fairly late in the morning, until about 2am considering I was talking with a friend (blame all late night bedtimes on him now) And worked on reading for history courses since all three of the classes have reading due and I wanted to work on presentation information that will be happening this month. At least for European history and International Relations. The Intro to Civ class has a paper due which I’m not entirely sure when we’ll be getting the prompt…I think this week we shall so I’ll probably work on that…it should be fairly easy considering that this class is a requirement for all freshman and not a lot of them know English fairly well. Well obviously since they’re not a “native” speaker. And it rained today as well. That was fun :D And I watched another movie during the day. I watched Black Swan since I’ve been wanting to see it and finally saw it. And man, what a mind fuck. It’s such an amazing movie though. Natalie Portman does such an amazing job in this film.

My Mac and Cheese for lunch on Thursday.
Friday November 2nd HOLIDAY because it’s All Soul’s Day
Another holiday and went to market because I wanted to get some bread and take a walk around. While I was eating a chicken gyro, I noticed a lady speaking in English so I wondered over and stood by her because I’m such a nosey person. When her husband came back, I realized he was Hungarian and when I made a comment about their food (got a small Hungarian hamburger and small bacon sandwich) their portion size being similar to US portion size, started talking. Found out they were there on vacation and the husband was having fun because he was able to understand/speak the language even though it had been awhile for he told me that he hadn’t been in Budapest since he was small and he looked like he was in his 60s or 70s. The wife didn’t know any language except for English so we were able to relate. Haha! She was totally nice and reminded me of one of my Aunt’s just by the way she talked and her mannerism. It was kinda funny. After that, didn’t really do anything besides wondering back to my apartment and hanging out there, working on homework…again.
Wanted to take lovely pics of the sunset from my apartment balcony :D
A zoomed up photos. Taken with my phone :D

And another..
This is a cherry and vanilla strudelly thing...with jasmine tea. got it at the market when I was getting some bread.
Inside. I heated it up since I had it in the fridge..
Saturday November 3
Took the frozen spaghetti sauce out of the freezer so it could sorta kinda be unfrozen by the time I heated it up for dinner. I finally received my box from home too! It was kind of surprising as I was sitting at the table in my apartment and my doorbell rings. Normally the only one who would ring it was my property manager but he would’ve called me to make sure I was home. So I grab my keys and go to the front door but don’t see a shadow, so I go into my kitchen and look out the window there and see a postman across the hallway talking to one of the neighbors and I see my box on the ground. I go and open my door, postman comes over to confirm that yes, that it is my box and I got it! So I got more peanut butter, olvaltine (yay chocolate mix!), long sleeve shirts, more wool socks, my scarf, Get Fuzzy cartoon (heh yeah Bucky rocks) and some toiletries that I needed. Worked on Soc Theory reading (which I gotta say was long. About a hundred pages or so. Finally finished it though!) and then took a walk in the afternoon before I talked with my parents (miscalculated my 8 hour differences so it’s a good thing I got back in time to be able to chat with them!).
So I looked outside my apartment to figure out where I wanted to walk and noticed that it was fairly foggy on the Buda side so I decided to walk over that direction. I put on a couple layers of jackets because it has been fairly cold (40s/50sF during the day) and headed out. I headed towards the Danube river because I wasn’t exactly sure where I wanted to go, then once I got there I decided to walk across the Chain Bridge onto the Buda side. Once I was there, I went the opposite direction of Buda castle because I’ve already been on that side and decided that a change of scenery was needed. So I walked down to a church then turned around and came back, while walking along the river. Once I got back to the bridge, crossed it and walked along the river next to three large hotels (Marriott one of them), then wondered down Vaci utca which is the large tourist street. Yay for Christmas season to start! And there were stands open for people to look at Christmas gifts and what not. There were also food stands and I noticed that mulled wine (which I’m going to finally try) and hotdogs were in abundant. Woo! Then I got back right on time to chat with my parents. Which I love doing every week ‘cause it’s a piece of home. Webcams are awesome and I get to see my kitty wondering around in the background sometimes too. Or when my mom picks her up and holds her, I can talk to my kitty (yes I do talk to my cat :P). Then after that, made dinner and then just relaxed. Later that evening/night it was amusing to hear the people downstairs (since I live right above a bar) talking loudly and “singing.”
Parliament Building...
Another pic..
view of the parliament building from the Buda side. It's huge O_O
A nummy cherry and cream cheese strudel. More expensive on the street then inside the market. No longer buying it on the street >.<
And I was being a sweet eating machine so I had one of these (like the lemon delicious one I had last weekend)
It's chocolate...
And it's delicious. It's like a little cake...which makes me happy. 'cause it's like the perfect serving size!
Sunday November 4
Did two loads of laundry before going out for another walk to look at the different items that were out for Christmas. I’m thinking about looking at the different ornaments and maybe buying a couple. But I’ll have to look through them more slowly. But I wanted to get back before 2 (and put last load of laundry in) because I wanted to watch another F1 race. :D And going to finish readings for history class, maybe do a little research for projects, write up questions/comments for reading for Theory and then it will most likely be dinner and have more leftover spaghetti.
And that's all for this week :D
Nothing too exciting I don't think for this coming week. Just getting through school...again. Like usual.
