Kindle Publishing

I'm considering Kindle publishing my YA novel, Paradise Seekers. It was written last summer and got good reception from both writing group and others I passed it along to, so it has that. It's mostly just an experiment to see how the Kindle market works and if it will work for me. I'm still seeking traditional publishing with the books I've written (and the 200k word monstrosity I'm in the process of finishing), but seeing as this one was rejected (though it did get a few "callbacks" from agents before getting scrapped) I've pretty much filed it under "fun experiment, wont' sell" and therefore can shove it up on Amazon.
I think eBooks are a boom that will grow insane now, then fizzle down and normalize. I really can't see traditional publishers or books going away completely (though I could see hardcovers becoming even more niche than they already are), but I also know eBooks are shaping the industry. iTunes and MP3s did it for the music industry and they totally failed at adapting. Computer games did a good job using Steam (though they haven't all gone full digital yet, but I'm certain by 2020 we'll probably have very little physical media in gaming), but the book industry seems to be indecisive on how it wants to approach ebooks.
Anyway, point being you should all buy my book. It'll be $0.99 because I'm going to be looking at sales #s rather than actual profit at this point and then gauge the time I plan on spending on eBooks vs traditional publishing.
I'm also considering putting my YA Fantasy Series, Might of the Steelgods on there as well if Paradise Seekers does ok. That would be $0.99 too, at least for the first book.
That's it! Look, I updated my LJ. That never happens.
