(no subject)
...and there are two reasons for this.
1) So, I decided on Wednesday to finally stop by Jay & Silent Bob's Secret Stash after work. If you don't know, there are two stores that sell Kevin Smith merchandise (most of which is pre-signed) as well as some comics and cult film merchandise. So, I went and got the new Flash and The Eternals because, hey, it's Neil Gaiman. When I left the store and crossed the street, if I had just taken one glimpse down that street, I would have noticed Superman Returns on the marquis of one of the theatres. This would have made me wonder why that was, and I would have investigated. What would I have found? Well, the premiere, of course. ONE BLOCK OVER. But no, I didn't even turn my head, and thus missed all the hullabaloo. ::smack self::
2) What else did I miss on Wednesday? Well, I could have gotten my lovely new Flash autographed by the creators at the Golden Apple.
I hate being one step behind/away from cool things sometimes. And it happens so often.
Still, the week isn't a total loss. Eddie! Eddie! Eddie! I'm seeing one of Eddie Izzard's work-in-progress stand-up gigs tonight. My aunt somehow got herself a last-minute free ticket through an in with someone or other. ::grumbles a bit:: But that's okay because I get to see her tonight, too. ::is so excited:: And since it starts at 11pm, it will run into my birthday.
Speaking of my aunt, she was at the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica a few weeks ago eating pizza while waiting for a friend. Between bites, she happened to look up and who did she see at the table right in front of her? Christian Bale and family. She thought, holy crap, it's Batman...eating pizza! She said no one even recognized him, except for herself, so she tried not to act like a total dweeb and bring attention to Mr. Inconspicuous. Cool beans.
My brother has been obsessed with the World Cup lately. He likes to go to the Brazilian restaurants and watch Brazil's games and to English pubs to watch UK games. After he went to a local Brazilian restaurant, he popped across the street to Best Buy and apparently Dave Chappelle was there promoting something with one of the radio stations, so they stuck around and saw him do his thang. I loved that ep of the Chappelle Show when he was with John Mayer performing random songs in random places.
I'm also hating how every time I update, the page it takes me tries to tempt me into using a Navigation Strip. It's a total eyesore. Leave me be!
